    Idea for freshwater level

Here’s a larger hatch to the water tank on my ’05 CD25. The tank now has marks drawn to show number of gallons remaining.

It's a good idea to turn off the computer when not in use or at least disconnect the internet connection.

    Trailering with a kicker

It depends on the type of mount you have in mind, and you don't specify that. If you're thinking of a fixed mount that should be OK if it's a good strong one, but from what others have said here the hinged mounts should have the motor removed during trailering.

    Kickers and mounts

Steve and Rob, You should be able to mount the kicker with a fixed bracket that holds the motor out beyond the trim tab, and when the motor is tilted up it clears the water. No vertical hinge needed if the motor has an extra long shaft. I have a Honda 15 mounted to stb. See photos # 20 & 26 in...

Is C-dory going out of business? (Short answer - NO)

Perhaps we shouldn't be so quick to launch into such a speculative range of responses to a first time poster without first asking him to verify his credibility. The way to do this is to ask him a question or two in order to draw him into a second post or even a third post, thereby revealing a...

    25' C-Dory Cruiser--Permatrim

My Honda 150 has the plate mounted on top as you can see below. The installation is very similar to the 90hp photo by Roger-Dreamer. An added benefit is that slow speed turning is improved due to the downward turned edges which provide a slight but noticeable rudder effect. Straight line...

2010 Delta/Bay Extravaganza and Catalina Adventure

The above rules are justified. This trip involves significant organizational logistics and water condition challenges. Don't let that discourage you, however, if you are considering going. This is one of the greatest C-Brat get-togethers. I attended last year and would go again this year if I...

    Binoculars with built-in compasses

Keep in mind that no where in this thread has it been mentioned that the os36 has individual eye focus adjustments as opposed to center focus which adjusts both sides together. The eBay detailed item info does mention this. For some that will be a deal killer.

First Post, Looking to buy a 255TC

Hi Brian, I would add an option not on your list: a cockpit helm. It is very handy when boating solo, and even with crew on board I use it routinely for docking, quick access to steering when on autopilot (another option you'll want), and various other occasions you'll discover if you have...

    A lesson to be learned...

I don't understand this jumping on the band wagon for "The Sea Sport folks could certainly learn from this" and "Sea Sport are you listening?" attitude. What makes you think Sea Sport hasn't been listening and that they don't understand and appreciate the boat owners, as is implied? I have...

    Who Dat?

I disagree with TyBoo. Whereas Roger Daltrey was weak in the voice department, and one might say Pete Townsend's antics were a caricature of his former self, Pete's guitar playing was outstanding. If you recorded it, take another listen to his guitar licks. His playing made the performance...

    compass relocation

Looking at Anna Leigh's photo above, what about mounting to the window "pillar" to the right of the center window? Glue a wood mounting block there and screw on the compass. That would provide a little more isolation from electronics and also put it more in your forward line of sight. You'd...

    Best microwave for 22 cruiser

Dutch - Beware; a microwave that works on shore power or a generator might not work on inverter power. In fact, you might be hard pressed today to find a microwave oven that will work on inverter power. Notice in Minnie Swann's album (Fairbro's post) that his unit is a Sunbeam with mechanical...

    Boat heaters

Boris, re-read Sea Angel's first post: "I do use the top's fan to expedite the heating, but will lift it to turn off the fan when the temp is about right (to heat without the fan noise). I do have a circulating fan by the port windshield and that keeps the heat moving around so the whole cabin...
