    05/13 - 05/16 - Friday Harbor CBGT 2021

Hi All, I'm looking forward to meeting you in Friday Harbor. I have a question for the locals. I'm bringing up my boat from Oregon, do I need to purchase a Washington State invasive species permit?

    Cockpit Washdown Intake

I just looked under my CD-22 and the grates on my wash down intake face aft, and it works just fine.

Fuel Line plumbing for kicker recommendations

Thanks Colby, That sounds like a well thought out system. I originally had two outlets on my fuel/water separator but then I added a fuel flow sensor. I wanted all the used fuel to go through it so I could track total use so it is downstream of the filter and the 'Y' is after it. I like the...

Fuel Line plumbing for kicker recommendations

I recently added a kicker to Nowhere Fast. I plumbed in a 'Y' after the fuel/water separator with a line to the main (90 hp Suzuki) and the kicker. Each motor has its own primer bulb. This seems to work OK except that after I run on the kicker for awhile, the Suzuki is difficult to re-prime...

    Kicker setup on 22

The plate is made from two pieces of 3/4" hardwood plywood epoxied together and the angled mounts are cut from a cedar 2x6. It is painted with Petit Easypoxy that I tried to tint to match the gel coat (but over did it!). It is through bolted to the transom.

How do you store your spare propeller?

I recently bought a new propeller for my boat so my old one will become my spare. How do you store your spare propeller so it doesn't get dinged up or damage other items? I have large compartments under my V berth so I have plenty of storage.

    Kicker setup on 22

I made a custom kicker mount that raised it to the correct height, kept it away from the trip tabs, and compensated for the angle of the transom (~14 degrees). This allows the kicker to tilt up higher when not in use and keeps it from dragging in the wash when I am heavily loaded. I added a...

    Coast Guard App

I did not see a lot very useful on this app!! There are better weather apps and better buoy data apps. Does anyone know of an app that lists local bar restrictions?

    winter reading

If no one else has taken you up on that offer, I certainly will. Please PM me your mailing address and I will have the stamps on the way. A trip like that was done in reverse in 1939 by Buzz Holmstrom when a lady hired him to row her across North America! Buzz Holmstrom from Coquille Oregon...

    winter reading

I just found this thread, love to read, and now have some great titles to look for. I will add two more: "Where the Sea Breaks Its Back" by Corey Ford, the epic story of early naturalist Georg Steller and the Russian Exploration of Alaska. "Fishing With John" by Edith Iglauer, living and...

    Shipping fish from BC

I've had a few interesting experiences crossing in and out of BC. For years I took a month off in August/September to fish for steelhead on Vancouver Island, the Dean river, and Skeena country. Once coming back, US customs started a bit suspicious because I was alone, claiming to have been...
