Great picture. Is the road surface well graded and compacted or is there any looseness especially in the hairpins that would make loose traction?

Yes I could, of course it is quite a bit more driving to get there from Tucson. So, the question is: extra miles on the road or extra miles on the water. I'll figure it out. How is the ramp in Halls?

It is a long way up to Cedar cny.but we'll give it a try if we launch as planned

Glad you figured it out, it could have put a big dent in the enjoyment of the trip. Another "Moral Of the Story": keep fuel supply separate for kicker and Main :wink: How is it up there? I am thinking of heading up in a couple weeks or so. Keep track of the good spots and share. Alain

Yes, that is the exact set up i have, works very well, never had the hook slip off the chain even in the La Paz anchorage where opposing wind and tides can lay havoc with your tackle. Your chain might still wrap around your anchor though if you stay there long enough,

Bob, I have been using the one on the third picture of your post ("A more secure version") on my 1/4" chain with very good results, I think i got it from Defender.

Screens are a must. Surely someone out there fabricates custom size frames, I could send you a full scale pattern if ever needed.

A space in the bunks to run sling straps is nice to have if a crane is ever used.
