Howdy Duke,
Why not pick one of the large costal lakes to get used to the boat... Ten Mile might be a good start.
The Columbia is good, but be careful if you anchor. If you get the rode wrapped around your lower unit, you could be pulled under by the current. You could launch in the Astoria...
Same for a photo hosted on another site, like the NMI photo gallery. Bring up the image, right click, select copy image location/address. Then put that address between the img button bookends.
Get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? I get what you’re saying, but I suspect most of us with diesel trucks don’t leave them running in parking lots.
Dave, I think Philip Is one of the folks that Victoria Jason (Kabluna in the Yellow Kayak) traveled with as she navigated the top of Canada. She passed away some years ago, but her book is an interesting read.

You don’t always need to use all the ponies, but it’s nice to have when you need it (like...
I did the first time we boated LP, but have been told the concessionaire security folks will make you move. I’ve also been told the NPS doesn’t care. It would be worth a call to the HQ to find out the truth.
