Pat, you will like the Northern Lite. We have the NO 10-2. You will find that you’re going to feel top heavy as compared to the Alaskan. If there is too much sway, consider air bags to level it out, and a Helvig BigWig sway bar! Congratulations to you and Patty!

Lloyd, the newer 22’s have a raised level floor over the cockpit. On the centerline it is approx 3” above the hull, if my memory is correct.

Gary, no experience with it, but to me that looks very much like a crudely made competitor to the Permatrim. I believe they will aid steering, but I’m not sure how much.

Peter, we have launched at Telegraph Cove and Alder Bay RV. The last time was 2006, so my recollection might be outdated, but I would not recommend Alder Bay. It had an exposed ramp, and the RV park would not allow you to leave the boat in the water overnight Telegraph Cove had much nicer...

I’m another vote for the Garmin InReach. We use it any time we are traveling to let family know where we are, and to let them contact us if there is an emergency at home. As I often bird hunt alone, it’s always in my vest to summon help if I am injured or need assistance.

I have been infatuated with the R21 for years, but I believe the CD22 is a wiser choice. It has more room, better rough water capabilities, and engines that are easier and less expensive to maintain or repair.

Pat, I think you’ll like the Suzuki, and the team at Sportcraft. My only other comment is to make certain you get a good walk through with the digital panel. I found it a bit difficult to initially understand. Best to you and Patty! Steve

Ken, do you have the long shaft Suzuki 2.5? I tried the short shaft on our old boat, without a great deal of success. I think the long shaft would do OK.

The newer GCI Pico chairs are great... until they’re not. I leaned over to pick up up a dropped item and had the aluminum casting break.
