    22 Cruiser prop options

I have a Turning Point 21431930 - 4 blade 13.9 x 19 that I tried on my CD22 Suzuki 90. I liked this prop at first but when I loaded up and went on a trip I found it was too much. I switched to a 3 blade 13.9 x 17 that works better for my boat. Don't know what shipping would cost, but it's like...

    Boat cover/Protection during transit

ATPNW, I have one of the Budge covers, have had an Angola cover, and a local custom cover. The Budge cover is okay. It's heavier and not as nice as a Sunbrella cover but the price is much less. Mine is 2 1/2 years old, and still in one piece. I do get a dust that seems to come off the surface...

Upper Mississippi River C-Dory Trip - Sep. 2021

We have over 500 miles to drive our trucks and empty trailers to get back to our boats. I have not done this before. I'm thinking the trailer will be bouncing on every little bump in the road. What about lowering the tire pressure for the ride back. Maybe down to 30 psi. Would this help the...

Upper Mississippi River C-Dory Trip - Sep. 2021

I'm hoping that this year may be a good year for this trip. What little research I have done, looks like the upper Mississippi area is dryer than normal so far. I realize that what has been happening so far does not mean it will stay the same. From what I can tell, the big impact of wet...

    Ditch Bag Inventory

If you watch the youtube video of what happened to this couple on a quick trip to shore in the dinghy, its easy to see that having a bag with a VHF, horn, survival blanket, or a few other things could have prevented a near tragic event. I don't think it matters what you call the bag. They say...

    Ditch Bag Inventory

I recently watched this YouTube that reinforces how easy it is to get into trouble. I'm sure this couple would have liked to have had a ditch bag in the dinghy. The question would be could they have held onto it or found it after getting to shore. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OL2KgMcynaY Steve

    Labor Day weekend

We had plans to plans to make the Friday Harbor gathering but you know how that went! Even though we still have Covid 19 around we are planning a trip north. The plan is to have some work done on my outboard in Everett and then launch from there on Sept 3 or 4th and return to Everett on the...

New Tires and Valve Stems, Metal vs Rubber

I am currently looking at new tires. My last all new set were Goodyears. I guess it was when they were having problems because I had 2 blowouts and one near miss. A trucker stopped me before it could blow out. The Endurance sound good, but how do you know the set you buy won't be when the are...

    Thermostat corrosion

I left my thermostat too long and had to work to get it out. The housing and cover are encrusted with, I think, mostly salt corrosion. Any suggestions for cleaning away the corrosion without damaging the aluminium? Thanks, Steve

2020 FRIDAY Harbor CBGT, move to Sept 2020

Harvey, We were well on our way to have everything come together to make the trip up there before the shutdown. Now we don't know what we are doing. If FH is able to happen, we would probably re-work our plans and try to make it up. Steve

    Lenco Trim Tab Problem

Hi Guys, Thanks for the information. I went out this morning and was able to pull the cable from the helm to the transom and remove the actuator without removing the fuel tank. I have a couple of pictures in my album on page 2. There is a cut in the wire sheath just before the actuator and it...
