I did disengage the bendix from the flywheel, still wouldn’t turn. I inspected the oil fill cap and dipstick but didn’t see any milky residue… The last oil analysis less than 10 hours ago didn’t turn up anything unusual. I’ll try and post pictures of the spark plugs and bore scope pics later...

Update: looks like the motor might be seized. Pulled the spark plugs and tried to turn the flywheel and couldn’t do it. Could not find evidence of water on the plugs nor the cylinder head when I bore scoped them though. This whole ordeal is so bizarre to me. Have no idea where to turn next or...

If using for fishing/trolling I thought this setup might be better placement as my eyes are always facing aft when I’m in the cockpit. I installed this over the winter so haven’t used it in this configuration yet.

Anyone happen to know if the pickup tubes on the Cape Cruiser models (we have 23 venture) are plastic or metal? My tanks are aluminum which I think differs from most C-Dorys I see that are plastic. I don’t want to start digging around back there and risk breaking something if I don’t need to.

Probably not a bad idea, I do have a couple replacement kits ready to go. Thanks for everyones comments here.

Thanks, I had read this before too. I typically only turn my faucet about 1/4 fully open. It is had to gauge what amount of pressure that actually equates to. Any tips for finding the sweet spot?

Thank you for the quick reply. I am two years since the impellers were last changed. On a somewhat related note, has anyone come across a good set of muffs for these smaller outboards? I see they make some with a clamp system that goes through the water intake.
