    Shore Power Location

Thanks for the photos. A picture is worth a thousand words. I'm following your lead and others with the Inlet I'm thinking of installing the AC panel above the door way along with a new DC panel later. It drives me nuts to have a panel at my knees when at the helm. That hole will be a glove box...

what is the battery selector switch selecting?

With a bit of hesitation, let me take a stab at this. The selector switch selects what source of energy is being used. Most setups using this setup will have two batteries. When selecting 1, you select one battery that you decide is either the start battery or the house battery. When selecting...

That makes four installations in the same general area. Thanks for the input.

    Shore Power Location

Getting ready to install a SmartPlug shore power inlet, Blue Sea AC Panel, and Battery Charger. Where would one mount the inlet on a C-22? My plan is to mount the panel above the door, in the cabin. The inlet might work in the little storage trough on the starboard side. What do you think?

    BC Salmon farms news

What good fortune. I have blasted past their place on the way up to Glacier Bay and have always wanted to go back. Retirement is nearing and that might just happen. But regardless, I am so thankful to the work and example of Alexandra, Billy and all those that have battled to keep this a very...

If you would like a wonderful introduction to Alexandra, consider her first book with Billy Proctor; another legend. The book is titled: "Heart of the Raincoast; A Life Story".

    Depth Sounder - Cored Hull

Can anyone verify that on a C22 the hull is or is not cored? I'm installing a depth sounder soon and need to know if there is solid fiberglass at the keel area or cored? Thank you

Amazing to see all these posts about Rotary's, as we called them in the Boston area. I grew up with them, love them, miss them dearly. So this is what i was taught about traffic circles; NEVER look anyone in the eye. Make believe you do not see them, and go for it. I know what you are saying...

Still a bit fuzzy on selecting the 12vdc adapter but I'll give that a try. Makes no sense going back and forth between ac and dc. If I can stay with dc life is good. I was expecting to use my clamp on to read amperage returning to the battery at various RPMs, and I do expect it varies. But...

Thataway, you pretty much hit the nail on the head with my next two projects. (Electrical and Engine) The LVD is an interim solution. I think I'll be able to monitor the battery such that I can keep out of trouble for a summer. At the same time, I agree with you that at a minimum, two batteries...

    Fireworks shows

Vancouver BC, the Celebration of Light, all week! http://hondacelebrationoflight.com/ But my favorite will always be Symphony Splash. The Victoria, BC symphony is on a barge in the inner harbor for an evening of amazing music. They shut down the streets around the Parliament Building and the...

About ten years ago I did the inside passage to Alaska using Nobletec on a laptop with my 24 foot SeaSport. By far, it has been the high point for my limited boating. Being able to sit in my living room and chart out my every move from Bellingham WA, to Glacier Bay, Alaska was one of the smarter...

I went back and forth with the laptop idea. It came down to the size of the monitor benefits my poor eyesight and having the power of the laptop is beneficial in other ways too. I'll be carrying the laptop between boats too. I have Coastal Explorer loaded on the laptop.
