    12 inch GPS Plotter on a 25?

The NMEA 2000 networks connected to chartplotters easily give a full engine readout, radar, bottom profile, stereo control, satellite weather, AIS and are resistant to salt air corrosion. We also use 2 large GPS enabled tablets with Navionics, my PC is our 3rd backup. No free charts of...

    12 inch GPS Plotter on a 25?

ssobol, I just turned it on, you are right, about 3/4" of the screen is black on all 4 sides, and why the 12" looks huge in proportion to the helm station. The 9" seems good to me, maybe the next generation will go edge to edge. This one has less dead space than my old Garmins.

    12 inch GPS Plotter on a 25?

My new Simrad is virtually edge to edge with 1/4" bezels. (Lowrance, B&G and Simrad all the same company but have different features for fishing, sailing and powerboats)

Observations on my non C-Dory Trawler

We are coming down from a 38 foot boat, and we love to be anchored out with all the comforts, head, fridge freezer, watermaker full electronics, and storage inside. Also a perfect size for towing to remote places for months on end, so the CD 25 is an amazing cruising boat for what we like!

    Safety Chains

I know the issues with the SS lifelines, I took them off my big sailboat because they were opaque, my trailer ones are clear so I can see the condition and they are never in the water. Loose dragging chains cause wildfires in our area and are always a concern in California and another reason...

Trailer brakes in salt water service

I think S.S. calipers and rugged iron disks seem like a good combo as long as you rinse them everytime.

    Safety Chains

Good article, I have rollers on my trailer and it is scary to think what could happen on a steep ramp if the winch had a problem. I put on a more heavy duty winch with a much heavier strap and along with the safety chain I breath easier. My trailer has cable trailer to hitch safeties which I...
