Question on canvas color for blue 2015 CD 25

I whole-heartedly agree with Boris, choose a light color. I chose dark green to match my boat, big mistake, it heats the interior well above 120F on a summer day. It even melts any plastic it comes in contact with.

    14th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza, April 6 to 10, 2016

Nice pics everyone. Seems as the years go by we (on Dora Jean) take less and less pictures, so it's nice to have others take some, always brings back great memories of each trip. And each trip has it's own unique environment and circumstances, so never are two the same. Great video Floyd, I...

    Right Time to Replace Anodes

Thanks all for this discussion. I have twin F80 Yamahas (2003), approx 800 hrs on them, not stored in water, religiously flushed after every trip. I looked in the Service Manual, it doesn't specifically mention to check or maintain them, but does show where all 5 anodes are located: 3 internal...

    14th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza, April 6 to 10, 2016

The people-count of Dora~Jean has been reduced to 2, just Alex and myself. My wife was requested to fly back East for a family commitment, she said to tell the group she will miss them but happy as well where she's going!

    new thermostat

Just as another data point, I also have Yamaha F80's (2), Model F80TLRB. The manufacture date imprinted on the motor is 7/2002. So I guess like boats manufactured in July, they are considered the next year.

    14th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza, April 6 to 10, 2016

Jim/Kath, check's in the mail! Thanks again for organizing this great event. I'm going to attempt to do something different this year, I'm bringing a bike(s) along this year to give us a little more mobility. We will still go with the group to meals and other activities, just wanted to see more...

    Carrying dinghy aboard TomCat 24

You can always remove the drain plug if it rains, that's what I do--but here in SoCal, that's a RARE EVENT.

    Trailer tires - I don't get it.

Yes, easier to float your boat when unloading/loading at a ramp.

    Wallas DT30 or 40?

I almost hate to put this in print, might jinx it, but I've had my Wallas 1300 heater for at least 8 yrs, zero problems. I run it 5-10 times per year, use only Kleanheat kerosene, some is years old, doesn't seem to mind. It does all of the proper startup and shutdown sequences automatically...

    lightning at anchor

My experience. I had an F-31 trimaran, 40 ft mast, previous boat to my CD-25. I trailered it to the Bahamas with a group of 5, same boat. Before we left home, we all discussed the possibility of a lightening strike and what gear/mods we should do to our "plastic" boats for safety. Decided to do...

    Simple electrical advice needed.

All good suggestions. I have "twin" engines on my boat. I only have one Group 24 battery for each engine. I have no other battery for a "house" battery. I have a 1-2-Both switch that selects which I'll use for the house battery for that trip, or may switch to the other battery if we drain the...
