    Honda BF 150A wont start

Thanks Bob, The engine turns over strongly as you would expect with new batteries. The boat has lived on freshwater for the last 14 years. All the electrical connections on the entire boat are like new. I had a car way back when that acted similarly. It turned out to be what we used to...

    Honda BF 150A wont start

I have a Honda BF150A (2006) that has been in storage for about 20 months. For the record up to now I have accomplished the following, Removed the old fuel and replaced with fresh non-ethanol fuel, changed the lower unit fluid, changed the oil and oil filter, changed all plugs (350 hours on...

    Transom molding coming off.

Thanks for the info, mine looks like someone used hot glue to fasten it down in the past. I'll file / grind that out and reset it. I have both BoatLife and 5200 black. I'll probably use boatlife for this one as I want to pull the screws on the trim tabs and use 5200 to seal that up.

    Transom molding coming off.

I just bought a boat from the SW in a very sunny climate. the boat was stored on a lift under a covered marina however the transom was exposed to the sun and consequently the black plastic molding that goes across the transom has begun to come off the fiberglass. Can someone out there give me...

High altitude boat moving to sea level.

Does anyone out there know what I should expect when moving a boat that lives at high altitude (5,000ft) and move it for operation at sea level. Will it run stronger or weaker?

New boat missing Anchor/Windless. Help me buy a replacement?

Good choices and good price points. Inquire on the windlass if it comes with a breaker box. They sell a package deal where you get the whole works and dont have to go buy any electrical stuff. good luck. and if you need someone familiar with Puget Sound to learn to shrimp and crab and fish...

New boat missing Anchor/Windless. Help me buy a replacement?

You mentioned that you will be fishing. In my experience with anchoring for halibut fishing in deep water is that you will want to get your anchor to the bottom before the tide drifts you off the shelf. My recommendation for a windlass would be the LEWMAN PRO FISH 700. It has the capability...

    "Fore"

Went out golfing this weekend, got on the first tee and did my normal pre-swing routine. I hit my driver what started out as a good shop then rapidly turned into a slice. I heard a commotion down by the ball. As I approached my ball I see the owner of the house standing outside looking at his...

    Mouse on a C-Dory

We've traveled a lot on our boats in the warmer weather in the PNW and in our 5th wheel in the winter months. Have encountered mice along the way on occasion. We have found that if you can find the entry point into you boat or whatever you have that a sheet or two of bounce fabric softener...

To cover or not to cover?

Ive had many boats over the years and have learned the hard way on occasion. I covered one of my boats up tightly for the winter with the drain port open. I ended up with a moldy mess when I uncovered it in the spring. No air flow. My son and his wife went out of state to work and decided to...

    Drippy Cave Syndrome

Hi all, I am not a C-Dory owner yet but am trying to find a 25' so if you know someone who is getting ready to part with theirs Im all ears. Now one comment I read is that C-dorys are known for drippy cabin syndrome. Is there a solution for this? Can the inside of the cabin be painted with a...

My engine woes and quest for repower.

It appears that you have narrowed the problem down to an easy solution. Either your waterpump impeller is faulty, your waterpump housing is faulty or you have a blockage of salt in the intake line somewhere. I'd start with the blockage idea first. Use a product that dissolves salt and let it...
