Modela Keys on EBAY (our door keys)

Note that at least on our boat (2006 with all glass door), the keys are made by Trioving of Norway, which is the same as the Ilco T-06 blank. Just wanted to let people know there was more than one type so they don't buy the wrong keys.

    Sealing Transom-Mount Transducer Holes

I was looking for that picture from your thread but couldn't find it so I linked to the pbase article. That's the one!

    Deck core moisture and rot

If you do end up using foam for the repair, be careful since some types of expanding foam grow a lot and can apply significant pressure.

    Sealing Transom-Mount Transducer Holes

As it turns out, I did some drawings when I was trying to figure this out. To undercut, you use a dremel bit that looks like a router bit where the blade is wider than the bit shaft. It lets you make a cylinder shaped void below the hole, between the fiberglass layers that you can later fill...

    Sealing Transom-Mount Transducer Holes

BTW, here's Bob's excellent thread on the process: http://www.c-brats.com/viewtopic.php?t=17114

    Sealing Transom-Mount Transducer Holes

There's something called a Stern Saver (http://www.sternsaver.com) that which is basically a Starboard block with some cavities on one side. You mix some included epoxy, overfill the cavities, then slap the thing on the transom. The cavities are undercut such that when the epoxy hardens, it is...

    Deck core moisture and rot

I was thinking something like expanding foam insulation (not much!). Shoot a bit of that into the inner hole, letting it expand in the void and also up into the area you want to fill. After it hardens, re-drill to clear the foam from the area you want to fill, and undercut with a dremel bit if...

    Manouvering a C-Dory

One thing that got me at first was the boat license materials saying you can only steer a power boat while it is thrusting (i.e. in forward or reverse). That is B.S.! If I come in to the marina, even very slowly, going in and out of gear, there's still enough water running across the lower unit...

    Don’t want to drill holes!

Yes, I first heard about it reading on here, but later I saw the link which describes it in great detail.

    Don’t want to drill holes!

Someone mentioned overdrilling holes, filling with epoxy, then drilling the desired hole size. This is good, but it leaves the epoxy plug prone to popping out or just moving laterally and breaking the bond to the fiberglass. A slightly more time consuming but better approach (IMHO) is to drill...

    16' CD anchor light wanted

I had the same problem until I realized in was mounted to the switch panel at the helm. There's a threaded part sticking out for storing the cap, but when the cap is on there it's hard to see and kind of looks like a resettable fuse or something else. Anyway, look around the helm area and see if...

    Best idea under $20

I put a spare drain plug in the bilge area, hung from a cable clamp with a slit in it for quick removal. It's there in case something happens to the drain plug while on the water, or if the boat goes down the launch without a plug.

    22 backup bilge pump install

I finally swapped out the failing Rule 1100 for a Johnson 1250. It's a bit bigger, but a really nice pump. It comes with interchangeable 1-1/4" and 1-1/8" barbed outputs, as well as an integrated one way valve (just a rubber flapper backed by a stainless washer. Since I'm installing this along...

    CLC Northeast Dory build (Finishing)

Remember to make your garage (and door) tall enough for the tallest boat you ever plan to build! I did read that right, you're "getting" a garage?

    Simple wiring project?

I don't believe that's true, but it's been a while since EE/physics classes. Your body has too high of resistance to allow much current from 12V. If you have enough current to kill traveling through you (i.e. arm to arm), then the voltage drop is much higher than 12V. Either way it is still...

    Simple wiring project?

On our boat there's a wire that leapfrogs from one breaker to the next and ties them all together, but that one powers the switch back lights. My panel has a resettable fuse next to each switch, and then I have an accessory fuse panel below that has 6 or 8 more (unswitched) terminals with blade...

    TV Antenna

I think it's practical for trucks and RVs since they can be oriented when the vehicle is parked, but I think a boat will move too much, which is why satellite domes on boats are huge $$$. You might be able to get away with a tripod mounted dish that you put on the dock!

Looking for a ride in a CD22 in the Seattle area Puget Sound

I can't guarantee a ride in the sound, but our C-Dory is moored a few minutes from you if you haven't seen a 22 cruiser up close.

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

This is what we didn't do on our C-Dory yesterday/today: Leave through the locks and head to Eagle Harbor for an overnight stay at Harbour Marina. Instead, there was a small craft advisory, and although I'm sure the trip would have been fine for a more seasoned captain, it's our first year and...
