San Jaun and Puget Sound October cruising questions?

Ok. I should have been more clear on that post. The part of the coast where we boat the wind almost always picks up in the afternoon. As long as this afternoon wind only lasts a few hours or so I disregard it. I try to avoid any scenario that involves 10+ knots of wind that is preceding or...

San Jaun and Puget Sound October cruising questions?

Thanks for the great detailed response, that was just what I was hoping for! Given this new information I will have to discuss this with my wife further. She really wants to go to the San Jauns if possible, but I get your point about maybe some version of plan B being a better choice given our...

San Jaun and Puget Sound October cruising questions?

Yes we got the factory delivery experience. It was part of the boat show special.

San Jaun and Puget Sound October cruising questions?

Thanks for the reply. We boat on the Oregon coast, so I’m very aware of the difficulty with weather predictions. I just wanted to get a general idea of the weather characteristics in the Puget Sound that time of year and how it relates to cruising because I’ve never boated up there. Sounds...

San Jaun and Puget Sound October cruising questions?

Hi again brats. The last time I posted a question on this forum I was in the new boat research phase. We went to the Seattle boat show last winter and after much deep thought we placed a order on a new Ranger R25. Anyway our previous boat was a 24’ Alumaweld which we used extensively on our...

Anyone ever look at a stabicraft 2500 ultracab xl

The stabicraft 2500 ultracab xl appears to be a little more refined than the ACB’s I’ve seen. The YouTube video I linked in the original post looks intriguing.

Anyone ever look at a stabicraft 2500 ultracab xl

Hi, Just curious if any of the ‘brats’ ever looked at a stabicraft 2500 ultracab xl in person?? If you did please share your thoughts. It looks like a possible alternative to a C-D 25,23 and 22’. https://youtu.be/rTMXSYuKyfU

To repower, or not to repower , that is the question?

Thanks for your input, it’s very appreciated. Unfortunately the Tomcat is not in our budget. I should have given more detailed information about our situation in my original post. We currently have a full size SUV that my wife tows our current boat with, and I tow our travel trailer with my...

    C-dory 25 or 26 tow weight question.

After reading all the great reply’s I think if I end up with a C-dory 25 or 26 I would keep my GMC 1500 and see how it goes. For the previous 20 years I pulled triple semi trailers for a living through Oregon, so I’m very familiar with towing trailers. If it turns out my current truck isn’t a...

    C-dory 25 or 26 tow weight question.

Thanks. For years I’ve been towing a 7900 pound travel trailer around Oregon with no problems with my 2018 GMC 1500. I can pull my travel trailer at 70% throttle over our local 6% passes at 50mph. I think I could handle 8500 given everything I want to is within 120 miles. My old 1998 f150 with...

To repower, or not to repower , that is the question?

Thanks! That’s why I figured the 26’er is probably as big as I could park. 29’ + 4’ (additional length for 26’) puts me at 33’. As I said before I have 35’ of parking space.

    C-dory 25 or 26 tow weight question.

Thanks for the reply. I already have a weight distribution hitch and I was planning to use it on the boat. All of our towing will be with 120 miles of our house, that's the great thing about Oregon, so many boating opportunities close to home!

To repower, or not to repower , that is the question?

We currently use one of those anchor bungees with our current boat while camping, its great! What were currently doing is my wife tows our boat with her SUV, and I pull our travel trailer with my truck to the lake. We anchor the boat in front of our campsite with the anchor bungee. Thanks

To repower, or not to repower , that is the question?

Thanks to all for your input on this subject, keep it coming! Many of you have more boating and life experience than I have so your thoughts are appreciated!

To repower, or not to repower , that is the question?

We are only considering the the 25 or 26, not the 22. Below are the 3 most common scenarios we would mostly be using our boat for: 1.High mountain lake camping trips with the family. 2. Mooring it on the Oregon coast for a few weeks during prime Salmon season and fish on the weekends. If...

    C-dory 25 or 26 tow weight question.

Thanks Were roughly in the same situation. I have a truck that has a stated 9200 pound trailering capacity. However when I put it on a scale full of fuel, gear and the family it brings the trailering capabilities down to 8500. As I've researched this I've learned manufacture's stated tow ratings...

To repower, or not to repower , that is the question?

In the past I asked the C-brats about the ride difference between my current boat and a C-dory 25 or 26. I know a C-dory will not ride as well as my current boat in rough water. With that said I will still want a "ride" before I start writing checks. I know all boats are a compromise, and I'm...
