    2 Batteries for 16' Angler

We installed a second battery for similar reasons - downrigger, electronics including planned for radar. I also installed one of these: http://www.ezacdc.com/Scripts/prodView. ... roduct=109 to manage the batteries and be sure to have sufficient charge left in the primary to start the outboard...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

While working on one project I would find 2-3 more that needed doing. One of the "pleasures" of boat ownership. Once the must do stuff was done we have been splitting our time between working on it and actually using it. That helps a lot. Chris

I've noticed the same thing on our Honda 45. Chris

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Spent the day out on the sound fishing Jeff Head and Port Madison. Couple of strikes, one to the boat and lost it along with a small flounder when jigging. It started off sloppy and then was flat calm for awhile. A nice fall day on the water. We also saw porpoises, seals and some loons I've...

    Dirty Secret about LEDs

Roger - I've used those in the past ('75 fiberglass Boler camper). They work great - but are expensive. The clear heat shrink in bulk is cheap as is the self sealing tape. For some reason I always end up redoing my wiring projects  so it quickly adds up. Chris

    Dirty Secret about LEDs

The ones I used recently are completely sealed units without any connection at the light unit. The weak link is the butt connector for connecting the wires from the light units to the wiring harness which get submerged on my trailer when launching/retrieving. I sealed mine with heat shrink and...

    Launching without a loading dock

This is the part I'm most interested in - I guess I should have been more specific in my question . How does the driver get in and out of the boat? The high freeboard is one thing that makes them so safe but is a hindrance entering and exiting. Even with waders how do you get back onto...

    Launching without a loading dock

Any tips from the experienced folks here on how to launch and retrieve a 16 angler from boat ramps that lack a loading wharf? Thanks Chris

    C-Dory Sightings

Did a day trip out to Blake Island. At the dock was an un-named 22 cruiser. Met bmacpiper with his 19 Angler at the Eagle Harbor boat launch. He was launching we were landing. Chris

    09/11 - 09/13 - Sequim Bay CBGT

Thanks to all for the warm welcome we received when showing up sans boat today for the Gathering. It was nice to be able to put some faces to names and boats. We look forward to see you all again in the future, on the water and at Gatherings. Chris and Jackie

    Trailer Wheels

I was initially thinking that a hitch extension would be too expensive/complicated but after further thought and looking at available options the extension using the folding hitch is both cheaper and more effective. Fabricating my own is a little beyond my abilities. A lot of woodworking, epoxy...

    Trailer Wheels

More great advice. Thanks. One reason for choosing the C-Dory was the access to such a great resource here. The extend a hitch looks a little involved and starts at $329. What about one of these: http://shop.easternmarine.com/index.cfm ... goryID=215. Its the folding hitch - which isn't a...

    Trailer Wheels

Thanks for the fast response. I hadn't thought about the glides for the bunks. I can get 13in rims with 5 lugs and tires that will drop me down from 26" to 22" diameter so 2" lower. Add the glides and I should be good to go! Chris

    Trailer Wheels

We have launched our C16 Angler twice now and it is barely possible at our local ramp with the Forrester as I"m having to back really far in order to get the boat to start to float off. The trailer has 14 inch rims and tires resulting in a total wheel diameter of 26 inches. They fit "snug" in...

    flush fitting

I'd also be interested for our Honda 45. Also how long are people flushing for? I have a maintenance and repair manual that states 5-10 minutes. I hate to waste that much water if it isn't necessary. Chris

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

I splashed our C-Dory today for the first time. The trailer lights came in yesterday so mounted them last night. I had trouble getting the ground connection to work using the mounting hardware so ended up drilling fresh holes into the trailer and they worked immediately. I've also almost...

    Adopted a C-Dory

Thats what I keep telling myself - and I'm glad I'm tackling 16 and not 24ft of boat  . But I'd rather be on the water. I got all the wiring off the trailer. Tried to fix the horn but no go. Ended up removing the entire thing as it is occupying the spot we will likely use for radar. Based...

    Adopted a C-Dory

Cleaned up the corrosion on the contact points and I have running lights, anchor light and cabin lights again. The bilge pump was just clogged with debris, once cleaned it ran fine. Next project was removal of the strap hold downs for the battery and 2 fuel tanks. The battery ones were plastic...
