    Water in Cabin Yet Again

Harvey, thanks for suggestions. I took water tank out when I bought boat. I don't use the galley. The cover is blue. No fish blood in cabin. No Stabil.

    Water in Cabin Yet Again

Checked on boat in harbor for first time in a while. Had to bail out 4.5 gallons water from floor of cabin. Water is fresh and has a slight pinkish tint. All cushions were dry including berth. To recap, last Spring: 1. Sealed all thru-hull screws, fittings w 4200 2. Resealed hatch over berth...

Keep mine in harbor year round to fish up here in AK. Harbor sometimes freezes. Motor down. 2014 Honda 90. No issues.

    Miss our c-dory

Really like mine but don't think I'll ever buy a non self-bailing boat again.

No problem. It is a pretty thick bead was put there once upon a time.

    Bomar Berth Hatch

Thanks Bob for clarifying gasket issue. Yes I was speaking of seal between hatch and deck.

    Bomar Berth Hatch

Cool. Thanks. So just screw off hatch, scrape off old gasket, put new gasket and replace hatch? Any additional sealant?

    Bomar Berth Hatch

Inspected my hatch today and found the seal (gasket?) That seats the hatch to the hull is disintegrating and is very likely source of my rainwater intrusion (though the cushions are never wet). Would appreciate a walkthrough of removing hatch. Is this in fact a gasket? Available? Or just 4200...

    USS Fitzgerald

And now same type incident w USS John McCain. WTH is going on over there. Also, I completely agree w Robb on comment about Fed Govt. In this case a Navy discharge (firing) could be meted out if warranted. And Fed employees can and do get fired. Sadly, we can't do same for CIC.

    Transom Drain Plug Safety

Had a rubber plug start to leak last year and letting in fair amount of water. Turned out to be corroded and worn. Replacement fixed problem. My boat is in water year-round so learned to check plug each time out of water and replace more often. Cheap insurance.

New 22' Cruiser Owner Here - Question on the RPMs of Johnson

Only time that happened with my old 70 was when I had a dirty bottom...er that is boat bottom. Have you checkwd lately. Lots of algae this time of year if kept in water. And yes that's a lot of avoir du pois to haul.

    New to Boating - C-Dory?

Hey Colby, I'm down in beautiful Homer. I found my CD22 right here in town. Unless you are looking for a brand new boat, there are usually a couple of CDorys on the market in AK most of the time. Check CList in all the AK lists and here often. There is nothing about a C-Dory that requires more...

    Maintenance Lessons

Second the switch to hydraulic steering. One of easiest and best improvements to CD-22. I went through two seized cables first. And getting a seized cable out can be a huge PITA.

    Honda 90hp working RPMs

My 2014 H90 runs 17knts at 3800rpms and 20 knts at 4100 w clean bottom. Was told by Honda mech that the Vtech kicks in at around 4200. Anyway no fear in going to at least 4500. Of course prop specs play a big role too on speed/rpms.

    Anchor Locker Redux

Will check again on pulpit bolts. Water has always been fresh not salt. Bow brass leak very unlikely. Thanks.
