    Private Message

I'm having trouble sending a private message. I typed the message and hit submit and got a message that the message has been submitted but the message stayed in my outbox and didn't show up in my sent box. I've sent PMs before and they worked. What did I screw up?

    07/01 - 07/04 - Prince William Sound, AK

Thanks Tom for setting this up, it was nice to spend the evening with everyone. After 3 days of exploritory shrimping and coming up with a grand total of 30 shrimp we dropped 4 pots on a known area the last night and got 120. We stopped off the outside of glacier island and caught our halibut...

    07/01 - 07/04 - Prince William Sound, AK

Hi all, I'm glad I checked in here. I recently got back to Alaska after spending the winter in a much warmer habitat. I left on short notice and when I got back the boat was still dissasembled in the garage where I left it ( I thought the wife would finish all the projects that I'd started but...

    C-Dory in Alaskan water?

I've mainly used my 22' in PWS and am really happy with it. If looking at a used boat consider how large the fuel tanks are. I put the larger tanks in mine and wish it still held another 30 gallons. How many people will you usually have on board? How long will you be staying out? The 22'...

    Valdez Boat Storage

Does anyone know of a safe place to store a boat on a trailer in Valdez? I see that a few are stored at the campgrounds, does anyone do this? Thanks

    22' SportCruiser question

I hope all you C-Dory folks will forgive my blasphemy!

    22' SportCruiser question

John, I would sure think a heavy aluminum boat would serve you better, such as Hewescraft, Woolridge, Thunderjet etc. A good aluminum boat can be put ashore anywhere, if there's rocks just hold the bow against the rocks with the motor and let the passengers out. The only way a C-Dory would...

Engine (HP) choices for 19 Angler

It appears that the factory recomendations are for the most fuel efficient, therefore minimum, HP that will get the job done. Since light and fuel efficient is a major feature of the c-dory's, that makes sense. It just depends on what you'll be using it for, with the 19' you'll probably not be...

    rigging the anchor

I'm with you Boris, I think next year I'll rig my small fishing anchor that way but the big anchor will remain rigged conventionally. I don't like surprises in the night.

    A Honda Question

I agree with Flagold, this looks like a simple problem of not having enough throttle movement.

    Bad Ass------!!

Just usual internet BS. The story is about as accurate as the story along with the pictures of that big bear killed on Montague Island a few years ago.

    rigging the anchor

I've got a Bruce type anchor and it comes with the same 2 holes. I'm considering using both holes but I think I'll have trouble getting it up onto the anchor roller and through the loop of metal on the end of the roller assembly. I thought about getting a short piece of stainless cable to go...

    Stainless Steel Prop

I still am not convinced that stainless props are much more prone to damaging lower units than aluminum. I looked at that website and am hesitant to completely accept the author as an expert on outboards when he doesn't understand the difference between ventilation and cavitation.

    Stainless Steel Prop

To the best of my knowledge, most outboard props have rubber in them between the prop itself and the inner splined section. Very small outboards just have a shearpin. I've had hubs spin in the past but it was on older outboards. Maybe they don't do it that way anymore. I guess I'll look at...

    Rode Marking

There have been discussions in the past about marking distance on the a nylon rode. I found something that has worked well for me. I got a can of that black liquid rubber used for electrical connections and marked the line every 50'. I put a 1/2" wide ring around the line, 1 ring equels 50'...

    Gel Coat Repair

I've got the boat in the garage and have it pretty well disasembled for a major overhaul over the winter. One of the projects will be to fill unneeded holes where some piece of equipment used to live. As I pondered the work last night I decided to count the holes and came up with 116 holes...
