    SOLD - 2005 C-Dory 22 Cruiser For Sale

Tyboo is setting up an album for me and when I figure out how to post photos I will. Note that posting pics is above my pay grade but we'll make it work. Very low hour 2005 22 C-Dory Cruiser with dark blue trim and bimini. The boat is turn key other than safety gear and personal effects...

    How much weight is safe?

One example of learning your new C-Dory. Our first season in our 22 felt crowded and the heavy Igloo 100 qt cooler was always in the way. The next year I put the Porta Potty back between the fuel tanks and the cooler in the PP spot. The boat was now roomy enough and it handled noticeably...

Highway Towing With Bimini In Place

Chafe is the enemy of the two oldest professions, prostitution and sailing. Any flapping in the wind will cause damage. Before I got a cover (boot?) for the bimini I lowered it, wrapped it tightly around the frame and used numerous tie wraps with release triggers to prevent any flapping. Now the...

Ford F150 or Toyota Tundra or ???

We have a 1st generation Ecoboost, 2013, and it's great. The EB has been on the market for over a decade and is proven.

Ford F150 or Toyota Tundra or ???

The days of Toyota being more reliable than the rest are gone. Just about everyone has caught up or gotten close. Engine wise the Ford Ecoboost motors are very popular for a reason. An F150 with the 2.7 EB has plenty capacity for your boat and will get significantly better fuel mileage than the...

    How to leave C-brats

I'd leave with a smile on my lips and a song in my heart! Oh, and a friendly wave.

    dogs

We have cruised our C-Dory 22 with two large dogs. The best advice I can give you is get a Furminator. It works better than any other brush I've used to keep dog hair under control. Check your bilge pump regularly, hair can clog it.

Have you considered having it bead blasted or somehow refinished?

    Need a little more help

The transom wedges that came on my '05 with Hondas made the tilt-trim gauges accurate. I removed them when I was playing with engine height and discovered the lower units will lift clear out of the water without them. They live in a box now. The boat came with Doel fins on each engine. IMO that...

Anchor is next on the checklist...

Below the anchor description Mantus has a dimension chart. Pay attention to the D and E measurements. You could even draw the outline on graph paper. I did the outline of a Vulcan anchor the same way.

    Is this boat under-powered?

My 80hp 22 Cruiser is happy @ 14-15 knots @ 4,400 rpm. This about the minimum hp a loaded 22 can plane with without complaint. The 50hp motor is not enough to crawl up on top of the bow wave to plane. In real life a 20hp motor will achieve the same 6 knot cruise a 50 will. Over 15-20 hp and...

Anchor is next on the checklist...

Just a thought. I had a Rocna but soon tired of the rollbar sticking up in my line of sight. I went to a 15# Manson Boss without the rollbar and am a happier camper for it. The bail on the anchor roller was not big enough for the new anchor so I fabricated a new one from 1" x 1/8" aluminum stock...

    I think CDory is done

I'm glad to hear it, Mark. Let me say it would be, IMO, in your best interests to drop in from time to time. No need to white novels, just the occasional howdy or quick update is all. This forum is at least 1/2 the reason I bought a C-Dory and it is a great resource for all of us. Thanks

New Tires and Valve Stems, Metal vs Rubber

They do for my car and did for my Jeep. I assume they would for the trailer. On my Jeep they really earned their money. About but 4 times a year they'd have to clean debris, usually bark, out of the beads to fix the slow leaks. One time a tire had an 11" gash in the sidewall and they replaced it...

New Tires and Valve Stems, Metal vs Rubber

Tho old GY Marathon became crappy when GY was moving their production from country to country. Things have changed. The tire stores can tell you they can sell old tires but you don't have to buy them.

    Trailer tires 2020

The made in USA Goodyear Endurance is the way to go. Many, myself included, have noticed the trailer has a more stable feel with them too. .
