WHEN DO WE RETIRE FROM BOATING?

I will be 73 years young next month. I wonder how many years I might have left to enjoy my C-Dory fishing/cruising trips, expecting continuing good health of course. Who is the oldest C-Dory owner on this forum and still going out there on adventures?

    What is your fuel consumption

I have a C-Dory 22. When loaded with 80 gallons of gas and supplies for 8 days with one 180 lbs person on board, my TWIN YAMAHA 50hp get 3 Nautical Miles (3.45 Miles) per gallon. That is at 4200 rpm (12-15 knots)

UNABLE TO REMOVE BRASS DRAIN PLUG

Problem is solved! I had to remove the fitting and put it in the vice to get it out. Used JB Weld on the screws and the fitting to make sure no water gets in. Definitely easier than struggling with a stubborn drain plug.

UNABLE TO REMOVE BRASS DRAIN PLUG

Thank you all for your useful suggestions. Today I took an old socket and "welded" it onto the worn drain plug using JB Weld Original. I'll let it cure for 48 hours and then will try using a ratchet wrench to hopefully loosen it up and remove it. I'll let you guys know if it works! Thanks again.

UNABLE TO REMOVE BRASS DRAIN PLUG

I probably tightened the brass drain plug too much last time I launched the boat. Now the brass plug won't come out and I have rounded the edges with various wrenches, vice grips etc. Drilled a hole into the plug to drain the water. Should I continue drilling larger holes and pry out the rest of...

    Prince Rupert launching/parking

The boat ramp in Port Edward is very steep and narrow. Definitely do not launch there at low tide as you can get your trailer stuck in a hole at the bottom of the ramp and then you won't get your trailer out. People have had their vehicles submerged at this ramp when they got stuck and the tide...
