Finally! It's time to start looking for a C-Dory of our own.

There will be a C-dory 22 Cruiser for sale in Phoenix, Arizona shortly. We purchased a 2006 C-Dory 25 Cruiser in Washington state in May. For one reason and another, I haven't advertised the 22 as being for sale as of yet. It is a 1990 Cruiser that we purchased 5 years ago when I retired. At...

    05/16 - 05/18 - Friday Harbor 2014

We just signed up. Our schedule is tight, but we expect to be there in our new to us 2006 C-Dory 25. We look forward to seeing our friends from previous Lake Powell and Catalina Island trips and meeting new friends. Tony and Diane

    New Trailer Vendor

Are they really disc brakes? In the parts section of the web site, they show electric drum brakes like those found on travel trailers. Tony

    Trailer Advice Please!

In my experience, I've found that is important to not put the trailer too deep in the water when retrieving the boat. Use the winch to pull the boat onto the the trailer. If the trailer is too deep in the water, you have little chance of centering the boat as it will float around. Side guides...

    OLDER

Jack, My solution is totally put together with bronze wood screws. Three screws go through the bottom step into the top of the fiberglass step provided by the manufacturer. The top step is secured by screws from the inside of the ledge into the wood. It is important that the vertical pieces...

    12th Annual Catalina Off-Shore Adventure for 2013

Please add Tony and Diane on C-View (formerly named Islander) to the list of attendees. We plan to drive from Phoenix to MDR on Sunday August 4. We'll go over with the group on that Monday morning. We may spend some time in Avalon. We may make the return trip on Friday rather than Saturday...

    Yuma Az cruising possibilities

George, I forgot to mention that all the Salt River lakes are in the Tonto National Forest and a Tonto pass and boat stamp are required. These are not available at the lakes. They can be obtained on line, but you need a printer. The Tonto National Forest web site also indicates where they...

    Yuma Az cruising possibilities

George, Lake Roosevelt in Arizona is 41 percent full. It is still boatable, but not as scenic as when the water level is higher. It is the first in a chain of lakes on the Salt River. The next lake down stream is Apache Lake, but access is via a dirt road. Next is Canyon Lake which is...

Travels with Kerri On and crew

George, Where are you parking your truck and trailer while your boat is in the marina? I know there is a boat ramp nearby, but I thought the parking was limited. We're in San Diego staying on our sailboat in the Kona Kai marina. We leave on Monday. We're babysitting our grandson this...

    C-Brats connect in San Diego

We enjoyed meeting Anne and getting a tour of Cascadia. We spend a week aboard our Beneteau 32' sailboat every month or two - more often in the summer. San Diego is a much more pleasant place to be in the summer than Phoenix. We use our C-Dory 22' on the lakes around Phoenix and Lake Powell...

    09/22 Lake Powell 2012

Another great C-Brat Gathering at Lake Powell! Thanks to Chris for his sponsorship. After we left the group near the Explorer Canyon in the Escalante River Arm, we spent a night near the confluence of the San Juan and Colorado Rivers. We had pretty heavy rain for a while. Saw small...

    Storage in s. Calif.

You might try the Newport Dunes RV Resort in Newport Beach. We stored our 22' C-Dory there on its trailer for a week before going to Catalina Island. There is the RV resort, a launch ramp, marina and a storage lot. I don't know if they have length restrictions. The storage lot had mostly...

    Kerri On's Walkabout

Interesting observations about boating at Lake Havasu. As far as I'm concerned, boating in the Arizona desert is a winter sport and it's not winter yet. We leave the lakes to the crazies in the summer. Be careful out there. Lake Havasu is one of the most dangerous bodies of water in the...

    09/24 - Lake Powell 2011

We had a mouse in the cabin our first night at Powell. I woke up when I heard it trying to get into our loaf of bread on the counter. It was persistent. We'd turn out the lights and it would come out again and go for the bread. We put a piece of bread in a plastic bag, turned out the lights...

    09/24 - Lake Powell 2011

Sorry for the late sign-up. Finally got the calendar cleared so we can attend. We were at last year's gathering, but only for the event in Oak Canyon before we took off on our own. We've been to Lake Powell several times over the years and wanted to visit some of our favorite places on our...

    09/24 - 10/02 - Lake Powell 2010

I've signed up for the Lake Powell trip, but we should be classified as 'tentative'. Our granddaughter is in the hospital and, depending, on how things develop, we may or may not be able to make the trip. I hope we can make it as it has been a few years since we've been to Powell. There was...

    07/16 - 07/18 - Bellingham, WA CBGT

Looks like we won't be able to make the Bellingham gathering. Our daughter is in the hospital with premature contractions. The baby isn't due for another 2 months. We need to stay close to home so that we can help out. Family is most important. A cruise in the San Juan Islands is still on...
