    Anchor chain

    We are on the chesapeake so typically anchor in 4-6' for an overnight . the tidal change is not usually too drastic except for early in season. Lots of tributaries, nooks and crannies...4' of water 30-35' of all chain and danforth never have a problem. Most areas are mud bottom .

    Yes we added the second platform new from the dealer( cutter marine) so there would be no new drilling. Does anyone know if the flat part of platform has any wood inside the fiberglass, not meaning the blocks backing the ladder attachment??

    Assumed the lag bolts were below that they didn't have backing nuts like the top. Perhaps just into the area u talked about.our boat was at the end of when they made the 2 cockpit floor boards. We have raised strips of glass that surround the gas tanks.also nonskid surface on the gunnel steps.

    Apparently cracking platforms where the ladder attaches have happened to others as well. No banging into anything. Once in awhile forgetting the ladder was down when underway has happened. Our platform has 4 bolts 2 at top of transom and the other 2 lower lag bolts into the transom below gas...

    Thanks for all input. We don't usually have a problem with the weight of all chain causing too much bow down. We are trying flipping the whole rode. We seldom use more than 50-60 ft so the other end that lived in the locker looks better.

    Is it possible to buy replacement swim steps like the originals?? Our one has failed where ladder is attached and the other has a lot of stress cracks so won't be too far behind. We have a 2006 22'. Does anyone know approx. cost? I have an email into cdory but heard nothing so far.thanx all!

    We bought our dory from cutter marine in 2006. Our rode is all chain. Noticing just this season between 20-25' it is rusting. The rest seems fine.     We need to replace the potty. Currently have a thetford campapotty. We would like a bigger waste tank capacity.     Keeping critters out

    Anyone block the excess space where wires enter the cabin? 1st time in 30yrs of being a boat owner and in the same marina we ended up with a mouse! We did catch it but am thinking that is an easy access for entry. Thanks cptvic

    Mooring cockpit cover

    How does everyone clean the sunbrella cockpit cover? I have been mostly laying it out and scrubbing by hand with brush and boat soap or dish soap.on occasion put it in extra large washer at laundromat then hang to dry..an upholstery shop told me that's a no no..not sure why that would hurt it...

    Center windshield bracket arm

    Does anyone have a problem with the knob that tightens the slider to hold windshield up? Ours is 12 years old and is seizing up.tried wd40 to no avail.would be easy if we could find a whole new one to just screw on.Any body know where to find one?

    well i guess we are just dumb.we were not sure what to do.cables come into engine on portside to an assembly with screws then transverse to starboard side below the carbs 2 more sets of screws so didnt know what was to be adjusted.i guess we will see if either a local mechanic would do...

    we will give this a go at weekend..and yes have thouhht about driving there and making them fix it while we wait..if we can't get it might have to.hopefully this will do the trick.i will post what happens,thanks for feedback and direction.

    yes we saw the screw backed off and wasnt touching.we are not sure the proper procedure for adjusting the cable.not real comfortable with getting into the throttle at the helm.can this be fixed at the attachment at engine. Forgive my ignorance.i'm sure its easy when you know what to do.

    Its a 2006 honda 90. I do not know what kind of cable was used.Is adjusting this a difficult thing to do.we are trying to avoid having to pull a loaded boat out to take it back for them to adjust it if possible.However we also don't want to mess it up more.

    New lower unit question

    We replaced our lower unit on our 2006 honda 90. Mechanic told us to change gear oil in about 20 hrs. Said thats tecommended.we change our oils at season end about 100hrs. We were wondering if it would hurt to wait or should pull out and change it i think we are already over 30 hrs on new unit...
