    Proper C-Dory Toolbox

I purchased one of these sets a few years ago and then added a few things like Bob mentioned. http://www.westmarine.com/buy/west-mari ... --11147691 All in a nice canvas tool bag from Friedman Bros, which I think a new one is opening up in Petaluma.

    Cabin hull screws

I am going to go with Sunbeam on this one. I have done some refitting on boats and now try and create a solid tab that the cabinetry can be screwed to/through. The main reason is if I have to someday remove the cabinet to run wire or hoses, etc., it is a lot easier job requiring a lot less tools...

    Sea Conditions

Here is a good site for info outside the gate; http://www.windfinder.com/forecast/san_francisco_buoy As Sunbeam mentioned it would be prudent to have local knowledge as there are number of places one can get into trouble even in fairly benign conditions. You will want to stay well clear of the...

Choice of Electric over hydraulic actuator

Bob, I cannot help with the actuator as the Hydrastar on "Wild Blue's" trailer is they only one I am familiar with, but I did just buy four new disc brake sets from the Trailer Superstore and am quite satisfied with the service. Though it was pretty expensive to ship all the way to the west...

    Tow vehicle

That is one thing I really like about the 2008 Tundra that I tow "Wild Blue" with, the in dash transmission temperature gauge. It does have the tow package that allows a 10,000 # limit. This includes a tow/haul button that changes the shifting pattern of the 6 speed transmission. I brought...

3M Marine Grade Silicone or Butyl Tape

I recently rebedded everything on one of my sailboats with butyl tape and never will go back to anything in a tube again if at all possible. The ease of use and lack of mess alone is worth it, but it is a proven longlasting method. Whatever, I also would stay away from any silicone.

    Need trailer advice

That is what I am doing with Wild Blue's trailer. 8 years old and has been sitting out in Anacortes for the last 1 1/2 years, everything is quite corroded on the brake system. I just ordered 4 new Kodiak disc brake kits and new flexible lines from Eastern Marine Trailer Superstore for $823...

    Anchoring at Lake Powell

Thank You again Bob, I do have a Danforth as a secondary anchor on the boat, but will pick up a Fortress to replace it as it packs so much better. I have no real experience with the claw either, it was something I picked up on a good deal. I have always been satisfied with my Delta, but most...

    Anchoring at Lake Powell

Thank you for the post Bob, as we plan on getting Wild Blue down to Powell next year. Currently she is set up with a Delta, but I do have claw, so I am wondering how those using a claw fared.

The Further Adventures of Wild Blue

Yes, the bimini was the easy part, the side panels were done flat down with vinyl masked. Their water repelancy is not quite as critical, so they did not get the soaking the top did.

The Further Adventures of Wild Blue

At home now after an uneventful drive back to California. Doing routine maintenance, trying out "303 Fabric Guard" on the Camperback.

hydraulic braking system doesn't seem to be doing much

Did you check to make sure there was proper fluid and that the hydraulic system was bled? I spent awhile trying to set up my new controller only to find out it was not working because of lack of fluid. If the brake system is not bled well enough the brakes won't work.

How much chain can a CD 25 carry comfortably

Great way to put perspective on it Sunbeam. Because most of my cruising areas tend to be places where one has to be pretty self-sufficient, I want the best available in gear. Likewise I want the better quality to be available in the future, so too will buy American (or wherever quality is...
