    Wallas Smoking...help!

It's sad how many times i've read of people having problems with their wallas. If an engine had this many problems it would be recalled. Scan marine is understandably helpful because they have made a killing repairing the wallas. These stoves are awesome...when they work, but how can anyone...

    Buying a C-Dory~~~SIGHT UNSEEN~~~

You will want to know of damage history. Water intrusion with a balsa core hull is a serious problem. Buying anything sight unseen is a risk but if the price is right you can afford to do some repairs. Being a charter boat it probably has had a hard life. A c-dory doesnt take constant pounding...

    Do I really need Radar?

Grutledge, i would recommend a tall radar arch and a roof rack. That way you get the best of both worlds. I made a roof rack out of pvc filled with wooden dowels covered in silicon. Works great was cheap to build and you can size it to suit your needs without much trouble.

You might have been able to repair board yourself i just did so on my wallas. Total cost was under 20 bucks. It was a burned tip32a transistor. wallas repair

Roger is right, this wasn't that difficult of a repair, just a close inspection to determine the problem, a little time spent looking for the required parts and a steady hand for the actual repair. I think all too often money is wasted on parts that aren't required simply because of lack of...

    following seas

I've had similar experiences in my 22 in a following sea. My boat is equipped with a permatrim not trim tabs but i've found that trimming the motor up a bit to raise the bow and push the stern down helped alot. Most times in these situations I still feel uneasy when dropping into the trough...
