    First stop out of Anacortes

The dock at Washington Park was pulled because of winter damage. Make sure to call ahead before finalizing your plans. It can also be VERY busy there and difficult if not impossible to find parking for your rig. Cornet Bay is an excellent alternative.

    Restoration of a 1999 C-Dory 22 Cruiser

you might also consider putting your batteries and batt mgt hardware under the aft dinette seat. You'd accomplish the same goal with a simpler install and a shorter wire run from your OB. Pictures of my setup in my album. Best of luck on your rebuild. Sounds like fun (mostly). jd

    Testing Farmed Salmon

Much like NOAA in the U.S., the Canadian Dept of Fisheries & Oceans has the ultimate federal authority in Canada regarding the conservation and protection of wild fish stocks in coastal waters. And much like the U.S., when it comes to fisheries management, politics always trumps (sorry)...

    Room on transom for kicker?

Boris, the Tohatsu (2010 model) is great! Very smooth & quiet. Mine has the electric start with alternator so I can charge the batts with it if needs be. I also installed a Controllking throttle control so I can work the throttle from the helm. jd

The future of salmon in Puget Sound

I stand by my claim. If you remove *all harvest*, by every single harvest method, location, time, gear commercial, recreational, subsistence and poaching *and* remove all hatchery influences in the watershed, the Stillaguamish River will not produce more than 1500 adult Chinook spawners on an...

The future of salmon in Puget Sound

Believe me, I understand the tendency to blame overfishing, gillnets in the river, wanting to take the last fish etc. I took a lot of those calls during my career. But if that's what you believe, may I respectfully claim that you are misinformed or illinformed. Go back and read the article. The...

The future of salmon in Puget Sound

yes, there is a fish ladder. But it was poorly engineered and fills up with debris most years. As a result it's a maintenance nightmare and WDFW doesn't have the staffing or funds to keep up with it. My point was that there is a direct correlation between fish habitat quality and riparian...
