    03/05 - 03/07 - Hontoon Island, Florida CBGT

I'm planning on being there but not signing up, as every time I do, I seem to end up in the hospital losing or replacing body parts. I've discussed my plan with avidmagnum…… and hope to see y'all there ;-)

Except for sleeping, 97% of my time is spent enjoying the waterscapes around me. I look at my boats interior as a means to cruise/navigate/store rather than something to sit inside and enjoy the interior view. Call me old fashion, but I like the KISS principle when it comes to boat...

    Hurricane Michael

It appears the gulf coast has a monster on their hands with a Cat 4 and 145 mph catastrophic winds. As of 7:00 am CST it doesn't appear it will weaken and in fact may grow to Cat 5.

    Repower Tomcat 255

My thoughts about 'high' outboard hour usage With twin engines you can compare engine noise while running. If the sound changes between the two motors it may be an indicator of an issue. I'm at 2600 hours on my Honda 150's, and they still both 'purrrrr' With twin engines I find myself using...

    Daily Laugh 2

I suspect this may be more of a 'wind shadow effect' with the kids protected by the shadow of a building? I watched it live and noticed the kids started to lean into the wind as they moved towards the street. My favorite is a female reporter rowing a canoe on a 'flooded' street and two kids...

    Repower Tomcat 255

FWIW- My Tomcat Honda BF-150 engines have close to 2600 hours. I service in accordance with engine manual, and have never had to add top-off oil. If I had one engine, I might consider replacement, but the chance of losing two engines simultaneously are odds I'm willing to take. That said, I...

Oregon Coast Labor Day weekend water quality ADVISORY

'And it is an interesting biological fact that all of us have, in our veins the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and, therefore, we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to...

    Ablative or hard bottom paint

I spend a good deal of my boating time cruising at 18 t0 25 mph. My Pettit Hydrocoat SR ablative paint looks pretty much the same as it did 3 years ago. I touched-up a couple of small trailer rub spots a year or so ago with a small paint roller in my driveway. Bottom line- Based on my usage...

    Pure Watercraft Outboard

Check out the Torqeedo web site. They have a number of electric models and have been around for quite some time. I have a 1003 that I like but it is too small for your requirements. https://www.torqeedo.com/us/en-us ………...and be prepared for sticker shock

Any experience towing a TomKat with an F-150 or similar?

It really depends on the specs of your particular F-150. Some are built to tow while some are built for show. The old '1/2 ton' versus '3/4 ton' days are long gone since the Toyota Tundra came on the market without a generic rating number (150/1500,2500 etc). I towed my Tomcat with an F-150...

    Tomcat 255 owners - questions

I'm surpised your auto-bilge pump function didn't kick in? Perhaps it was not quite enough water volume to trip the switch/flapper? Is your shower drain sump pump working properly? You have to run some shower water until enough volume switches on the small pump. (located under sink flooring...
