    Anacortes Questions

To All: Many thanks for all the great info! Now I'm really excited & looking forward to our trip to Anacortes. Good news knowing my 16 will be OK up there. I love that boat! I intend to check out all the areas mentioned & look forward to the possibility of meeting any C-Brats. Take care! Paul K

    Anacortes Questions

I will be retiring soon & my wife (Patti) & I are planning to visit Anacortes, WA 17-21 September with the idea of maybe moving there. Will my 16 Angler be OK for day cruising the San Juans? Do most people living in the area keep their boats in the water or keep them home & trailer them to a...

    Trailer Hitch Installation

Bob: Thanks. That was one of the things I checked when I had no readings at the connector. There is a 30 amp fuse installed for the tow hitch circuit. It was there & was good. Paul K

    Trailer Hitch Installation

Ken: I hope the part comes with instructions like you've shown, but according to the dealer, I don't think it will. The vehicle arrangement looks different from mine, but it's a great help. I bet the connect-up is the same. Hopefully when the part arrives, by comparison, I'll be able to locate...

    Trailer Hitch Installation

Capt. Matt: The dealer (Lexus of Roseville, CA) that I ordered the junction block from told me that the new block replaces the old one & has new circuitry required to provide for the trailer lights. Supposedly it just unplugs, but I'm not sure where to find it. They weren't sure. If push comes...

    Trailer Hitch Installation

I'm not sure this is the appropriate forum, but I need some help. I thought I was done with the installation of an OEM tow hitch on my wife's 2004 Lexus 330RX, but when I tested for voltage at the rear 4-pin connector, I got nothing. The dealer says since the vehicle did not come with a tow prep...

    Camp Lejeune

My DI would come down from USMC Heaven & kick my butt if I were to even think about bringing a law suit against the Corps. Paul K.

16' Angler Garelick Cockpit Step Installation

Jack: You're absolutely right! I guess I made a mountain out of a mole hill. I should have thought about the simple solution to begin with. (Like my wife said!) Thanks guys! Paul K.

16' Angler Garelick Cockpit Step Installation

Joe: That Rubbermaid 2-step may work out just right! I need to go to my boat & measure from the top of the gunwale down to the deck. I think it is approx. 26". That would result in a 10" step up or down to the gunwale. That would be a heck of a lot easier than installing the Garelick. Thanks...

16' Angler Garelick Cockpit Step Installation

Thanks for the replies. I guess I was thinking the brackets would have to support a greater load. I'll mount them with stainless sheet metal screws and sealant! Paul K.

16' Angler Garelick Cockpit Step Installation

Does anyone have any experience with installing a Garelick cockpit step (P/N 25022) in a 16' Angler? I'd like to attach the mounting brackets to the vertical side of the bulwark, a couple of inches below the top of the gunwale & just aft of the cabin grab rail. I'm not sure how to get to the...

    16' Angler AutoCad Drawings

Does anyone have any plan & elevation views of the 16' Angler in AutoCad format? I'd like to layout a few bimini top & support frame arrangements prior to talking to canvas fabricators. Thanks! Paul K

    Anchor rode container

Dave: I really appreciate the advice! I guess the reason I'm concerned about having a running line foul when coming out of a container is because of my Navy/MSC Underway Replenishment (UNREP) ship background. We carefully "fake down" our messenger and phone/distance lines on deck so that when...

    Anchor rode container

Jeff: As you suggest, I'm going to try letting the line fall into the container however it chooses and then lay the chain section on top of the pile. I saw a mesh anchor & rode bag at West Marine that I might try. Thanks! Joe: I also like the idea of using the pylon. I'll try putting in the...

    Anchor rode container

Tapping once again into this valuable vault of experience, is there a preferred method used to stow 3/8" diameter/3-strand nylon line & 1/4" chain into a container (pail, crate, canvas bag, etc.) that reduces the chance of line fouling when deploying the anchor? Coil into a round container...

Frsh Water Rinse for Honda 40 Twins

Thanks guys! I think I'll give the flushing bag a try if my boat ever gets built. I'll just have to keep an eye out for the "water police". Paul K

Frsh Water Rinse for Honda 40 Twins

Maybe I'm missing something with regard to how that engine flush feed-bag works! I guess you fill it with fresh water, start the engine and then constantly replenish whatever overflows using the hose. With the engine cooling water intake in very close proximity to the cooling water discharge...

    16' Angler Anchor Recommendation

Any advice out there on recommended claw-type anchor size (lbs) and brand for a 16' Angler? I'll be dealing with sandy bottoms primarily. When stowed, I want to make sure the anchor fits properly in the factory installed anchor roller without hitting the hull sides. Thanks! Paul K
