The images were taken right off the Island by Barnard's Landing. If you guys end up on the lake, drop me a PM and we'll hook up. Since the boat is new, I have not run it wide open yet but it will shoot up to 20+ mph no problem.

I really didn't have a choice in this matter - it only around 107" between the chains (PVC) so it works pretty well keeping the boat centered on the lift. I relocated the pulleys well above the boat to keep them from the hull.

I'm looking at a Garmin 4212 and I was curious as to which transducer most guys are using in the R-25. For ease of installation, I prefer a in hull design. Any help would be appreciated.

Here's a few images of my lift - as you can see I deleted the up-right poles and now use the chains (8ft long) with a piece of PVC over them to guide the Ranger in.

I know for a fact that there will be a display of Rangers both 21 & 25 at the upcoming Annapolis Boat Show. The great folks at Gratitude Yachting will have the boats there for display.

Thanks Bob, Looks like i have some homework to do - Seems like the older button units are the best buy with Garmin some of the Ranger guys are using the C-120 & E-120. I agree looking at the price of the sounder and transducer for the big units (12") I can easily get a full featured depth...

I'm really looking for a 12" display what about other brands (JR Fruno etc.) Does it make sense to go with the depth finder with these units or just get a seperate unit

Any leads on who might have the best deal(s) on a 12" display. While I would like to have a touch screen - I can live with some buttons to save some bucks! Thanks

Yes, the lift is a cable winder type and the turn buckles were only 4' from the cradle right about rub rail height. Most common cradles have a fixed 33" width which is perfectly wrong for the Ranger. Thanks

Hey Dr John, I was checking out your Toma-hawk images - pretty nice ride, I was also drooling over that beautiful electronics installation on your boat as well. Very, very nice!

As a final note to this thread I started - I thought I'd mention that I did end up buying a Ranger 25 instead of the R-21 -I'm really enjoying the boat - I love everything but the payments! :lol: Again my apologies if I offended any R21 owners with my blabbering - I still think the R21 is one...
