Do you have a crab trap puller?

Has anyone tried the crab hawk or crab snare? Both are used with a rod and reel. We would like to have some fun crabing without getting too seriouse about it. Just want to catch enough for dinner on the boat - if we happen to be out during crab season.

    Ranger 25 washdown system

It is located in the cockpit and comes out on the port side of the "bench." We got it mostly for resale value, but have found it surprisingly handy.

    ranger 25 question

That is where ours is mounted. Takes up a lot of counter space..... We ended up storing our microwave on top when we are docked. I move the microwave to the table when we are underway. The positives are you don't have the wallace system to maintain and you have extra storage without the fuel...

    ranger 25 question

We have one, but have not put it to use yet. You are correct about the small propane bottle that screws in. Looks to be fairly easy to use. Nancy

    Predicting the Weather

Thanks Bob and Sarge- Looks like we need to take a laptop with us to get the most accurate weather info. Still, a sharp eye and common sense should prevail. Great web site Sarge! That is just what we are looking for. Nancy

    Predicting the Weather

Sark, Thanks for the reply. We may have been in a tide rip. Being by someplace called "Foul Weather Bluff".... The winds were a lot stronger than the forecast. Does that go to local knowledge, or do people carry barometers and wind meters on their boats? Do you monitor the marine radio all...

    Predicting the Weather

OK, we are kind of new at this and seem to be wrong more often than we are right. So this is what happened..... The internet and radio predicted light winds and wind waves 1ft or less in the PNW. So we take off and things are a little breezy. But we figure we are going with the wind and the...

when do you call the USCG?

Rick- Just a quick thank you for the fantastic work the Coast Gaurd does. In the PNW we hear them helping boaters all the time on the radio. I hope we never need your services, but it is great to know the CG is out there. Nancy

    Interior cleaning

I wiped everything down with old damp towels to remove all the crud. Then I used the Lysol wipes. Still trying to decide what to do about the telltale glue on some of the walls. Goopoff has been recommended, but I am hesitating. Don't want to ruin the shine. Nancy
