    Trolling Helm on Blueback

Thanks --so do we and it was cheap - got the helm/wheel from the auto-wreckers, and the rest was odds and sods for pennies. The stainless tubing can be found - here and there. And my home welder with 2016 rods and a few tacks and that's it. I was a marine engineer on large and small ships/boats...

    Trolling Helm on Blueback

On nice warm sunny days we sit on portable seats in the cockpit next to our rods. This second helm station works for me. I made it from stainless tubing and 2- universal joints. Pull the hair pin clip and it can be disassembled in 1/2 minute.

Blueback- in BC's Golden Ears Prov. Park

The Alouette Lake/Reservoir boat ramp is a good grade and easy to launch and pull out from in the months from May to the end of September. Being a BC Hydro controlled reservoir, those months of the year not identified as the boating season may have lake draw downs that make launching difficult...

Thanks for your info here Dave: Is Toquart Bay launch site still closed and-if so- where would you recommend we launch our 16-C-Dory to do the BI group? Geoff

    Bamfield lookout -Brady's Beach

Wow --this board is amazing their/your scope, interests, and travels. We would like to do a little tripping around the Broken Island group but I think it would be tricky for overnight camping with our 16' C-Dory as sheltered anchor sites are unknown to me. Beaching of course is an option, but...

    Bamfield lookout -Brady's Beach

Around the corner from Bamfield (BC's west-coast-Barkley Sound area) is a little know spot called Brady Beach. They placed a little commemorative bench on this lookout ledge which has a view looking out to the Pacific in all it's wild spender. The boots alongside the bench (just visible) are...

Roger- I appreciate your insight re: long URLs However- many fellow posters of pic will no doubt say --well we understand your 1024 pixel wide limit-- how do you control that is - I suspect the64 dollar question? I hunted thru Google question -answer board to no avail. The bingo the Photo +...

    Test post Pic

Thanks for your note of support - it means a lot - as I was becoming a mental wreck by hours of frustrated failures. Yes its been a battle as I would follow instructs to the T and get a white board instead of a picture. I have a Window 8.1 platform now, which has been a learning curve from my...

    Test post Pic

The ironies here are delicious--LOL I started out not realizing that a picture to be posted had to be in 'web" language--yeah dummer than dirt. Then I thought that uploading to Photo-Bucket would solve my dilemma. Well that left me at their mercy for adds the never ended to expand my site to...

    Test post Pic

Yes that makes sense Dave -- my large photo set up a default for posts that followed it would seem. But somehow after I studied BBCode options to limit my picture size, my next posted picture stayed within boundaries of the page. But the next answering post did not. As I was born and educated...

Brant Festival in Qualicum Beach, BC

At this time of the year we are blessed with the migratory return of the sea geese (Black Brant) returning from California to rest on our beaches and feed on sea grass etc.. Then in stages they will arrive in their summer home of Alaska. For us on the Strait of Georgia this are like spring...
