Yeah…I’m under no illusion I’ll be able to park either a 22 or 25 on a trailer in my 25’ driveway. I was just hoping an empty trailer might fit in the space I have. But you’re right…note to self…buy a house with a longer driveway next time!
Thanks Bob for the info. I figured the trailer for a 25 was wishful thinking. I currently have a sailboat in Dana (for sale) so I'm intimately familiar with the changes affecting slip owners and current...and likely increasing...fees.
That's part of my rationale for getting something that can...
Any idea what the shortest possible trailer is for a 25? Maybe with a folding tongue? I have a 25 foot driveway I want to store the empty trailer in (and keep a boat on the water). But I don’t want to pay for trailer storage AND a slip fee so if I can’t park the trailer in my driveway I need to...
I'm sorry if my post came across as critical. What I really meant was that C-Dory's for sale in SoCal are in short supply. For a potential buyer who's been watching the market for 6 months, that adds a certain value to a local boat compared to say, one in Canada or on the East Coast...
The boat you reference is in SoCal. Another 22 (in nice condition) was just listed for $65k...also in SoCal, which seems rather pricey compared to other recent offerings on this site. I think there's a premium/markup in some locations compared to other parts of the country. At least, since I've...
The more I consider my personal (and practical) usage...the C-Dory is checking a lot of boxes! Of course, it seems many others are coming to the same realization as it appears a used C-Dory in good condition at a fair price is almost unheard of in SoCal. I should probably start the selling...
Thank you everyone for the detailed and thoughtful insights. It's reassuring to know that I might be looking in the right direction and many of your anecdotes are helping me think this through.
A few early responses had me thinking a 22 might be enough since it's mostly me and the wife...
I've been lurking and lusting for a while now. I seem to revisit every time I go sailing and realize it's much more work than it used to be 20 years ago!
The not-so-short version is I have a nicely restored Pearson Triton 28' that I acquired thinking I would take it across oceans someday...which...
