Mounting battery: Drilling into the floor...?

I glued all my wire holders and breaker switch for my Downrigger installations with the weld mount as well

Mounting battery: Drilling into the floor...?

There are different types of weld mount as you will see, read the specs and make sure you get one that works on the boat floor and not one specific to metal or a particular substrate. You would get a stronger bond sanding down the gelcoat but mine is working fine without doing that

Mounting battery: Drilling into the floor...?

Yes that's the weld mount from Fisheries. I got the tube which has a plunger and dispenses the weld mount in two rows so you get proper mixture. Stir that together and apply to back of brackets and press in place

Mounting battery: Drilling into the floor...?

I applied the weld mount directly to the gelcoat and its working well. I also glued brackets to hold the gas tanks. It is strong stuff if you follow the directions and easy to use

    Are you hunkering down?

I am reading all these discussions from my fellow Cbrats and feel the need to chime in. I am an Anesthesiologist, still practicing, and my wife is a dentist. My wife's practice and the surgical centers I work at have all closed here in PA. I am not surprised at all by the difficulty our...

Revisiting the proper technique for installing hardware

I know there are multiple discussions on here about overdrilling and filling for hardware installations on a cored gunnel. The link below offers some interesting test results that show the failure of all fillers. Leads me to think drilling holes correct size and painting the core with neat...

I want to thank all of you for your advice and recommendations. I have been absent for awhile from the message line. We received notice on March 12th (the day of my last post) that our youngest son, 23 years old, died unexpectedly in Charleston SC. He was a big part of my family fishing...

D, I would join you if closer. I would like to set my cruiser up for fishing the finger lakes and Lake Ontario. Currently I have Osprey docked on Cayuga lake in Ithaca. I’m looking at rod holders then downriggers in future. I’m hoping to hit Lake Ontario in the spring for brown trout. May I...

Setting up 22 Cruiser for fishing

I like the Seasucker mounts for use in rod storage I might worry if trolling. Sval I think I will likely go with a track system similar to yours. Lots of different brands out there. That’s a big Kokanee. I used to fly fish for them in CO when they ran out of the reservoir to spawn.

Paul that photo certainly illustrates the potential problem with inadequate sealing. Thanks for posting. Makes me nervous to create holes!

Setting up 22 Cruiser for fishing

Greetings all, I need some help from all of you experienced boaters/fisherman. I picked up my new to me Cruiser yesterday. She is a wonderfully maintained boat from Steve Baum whose meticulous attention to detail is obvious. I would like to add some fishing gear. What track systems do you...

    SOLD - 2001 22 Cruiser, $32,500, Portsmouth VA

Thanks Steve for a nice day going over the boat. I hope Anne and I can join you and your wife for some boating adventures. The trip home was uneventful. I'm sure Osprey is missing you wonderful location already. She looks a little cold outside on our snowy driveway !
