Oops. Just re-read the first part of my ad. The boat went through a complete refit in 2005 (not 1975!). Sorry about that. Bill

Have owned this well-equipped Cruiser since 2006. Many good memories, but the time has come to pass it on to someone else to enjoy. I am the third owner. The first owner sold the boat in 2004, and the second owner did a complete refit in 1975, changing it from a single engine 75 hp to the...

    FRS Radios for CBGTs?

The radios you can buy at most places now have FRS and GMRS channels. 1-14 are FRS and channels 15 to 22 are GMRS. The GMRS channels use more power that the FRS and have greater range. The last set I bought have an advertised range of 40 km, but I think a few miles is the practical limit and...

Narrowing my truck and trailer options

I own a 2003 Tundra and tow my cruiser from the interior of British Columbia to the coast. This means mountain passes up to 5500 ft and long up and downhill grades. The verdict? No problem for the Tundra. I would anticipate mileage in the 14 mpg range though or maybe even lower than that when...

    12V Fan

You have to be a bit long in the tooth and have lived in a cold climate to relate to this, but do some of you remember the plastic or glass panels that people would stick to the side windows of their cars. They would give an air space of about 1/8th of an inch and would give you a little panel...

    Honda 5hp or Tohatsu/Nissan 6?

Peter, I'm considering the Alaska series in the same size/model you have. Does the Griz Claw bottom add much weight? Also, do you find it any more difficult to pack in a compact area because of the extra layer on the bottom. I think I'd carry the tender uninflated much of the time and volume...

    Yacht Tenders

Has anyone here had experience or seen the Innova line of inflatables? I've considered a couple of the models (Sunny, Vagabond) but have never actually seen one. I know a few members chose similar boats (SOAR and Aire) over traditional tenders. Bill

    Yacht Tenders

Ditto on Wayne's take on the Portabote. I don't own one, but have a friend that does. You need to be on land to put the thing together. I'm debating as well whether to get a tender or an inflatable kayak/canoe. There are always tradeoffs as with all things. Bill

Slide Show - Wandering the IP to Alaska

George and Penny, Thank you for sharing this with us. What a great job you did of putting your experiences together in a form we could all enjoy. I'm sure it will inspire a lot of other C-Brats, including me, to take their boats on similar adventures. Cheers, Bill

    electric down riggers

Just wondering if those of you running Scotty electrics on a 22 prefer the 30" or extendable 36'-60" model? On pedestals? The longer booms would seem to be preferable at first glance, but I know the previous owner had the 30" models. Bill

    Are Used C-Dory's Overpriced?

I don't think C-Dory is overpriced at all. I waited patiently for two years before buying. There is nothing else on the market that quite fills the niche occupied by C-Dory. The boat is known for its quality and versatility. And there are few boats on the market that are as well equipped as most...

What type anchor can I use with stock cd-22 bow roller?

Thanks to those who replied. I decided to go with the 16.5 lb. Claw anchor made by Simpson Lawrence (Lewmar). This is a Bruce replica and I think is the same as the one sold by West Marine. I got mine at Steveston Marine and Hardware for $66.95 Cdn. (www.stevestonmarine.com). Bill
