Hi again Hank Yes, you will need an long shaft kicker. Mounting to the transom is ideal. I did forget to mention that my 9.9 Yamaha is a high thrust as well. As to mounting port or starboard, my kicker is mounted on the port. My Venture 23 water tank is also on the port. I do have a small list...
