I have a 2006 25 ft CDory Cruiser. The motor well has a single drain thru the transom wall, located at least an inch above the floor of the motor well. It doesnt drain the well effectively and leaves standing water that get slimey. Any suggestions?

Has anyone replaced the plastic storage compartment located in the side of the gunnel? I thought I could just unscrew it but it seems to have been caulked in place with some sort of gasket. Any ideas on replacement?
