We are new to the C-Dory, When we throttle up the bow rises and the boat starts to porpoise up and down and gets harder and more violent unless I throttle it back down. Am I doing something wrong?

Im attempting to mount a downriger and Im having trouble accessing the side of my boat. I dont want to just mount it with screws. Any sugestions on how to properly mount it so it does not get torn off.
