    Any 22-Cruisers on Lake Champlain?

Bump, due to lack of replies...

Cordless Drill and Impact driver to remove ligh nuts

I got hooked on Ridgid (Home Depot brand) only because of their lifetime free battery replacement policy. They are mediocre quality, actually re-badged Ryobi products, but for the past 25 years, with most cordless tools, it was actually cheaper to throw the tool away than buy new rechargeable...

    Diesel heaters

Appreciate the correction...I have not seen battery-powered ones. I have one plug-in at home, was not required (or available) when house was built. It's in master bedroom suite, adjacent to garage, and has never shown anything but 0.00ppm...made in you-know-where. Probably false sense of...

    Diesel heaters

A couple of comments: Typical residential CO detectors are required to have an "end of life" indicator that's hard to ignore (chirping). I would not hesitate to use a residential unit in an enclosed cabin...a detector is mandatory for unvented heaters like the Buddies, in my opinion. But...

    WM gunnel mount ladder question

I don't understand stowable ladders at all. If you boat solo, and become a MOB, how do you get back into the boat from the water?

Perfect C-Dory tool kit would consist of?

Read user reviews...pretty marginal, several very negative. Luck of the draw? Typical of Chinese products, unfortunately. Why I call Harbor Freight "Horror Fright"...some get lucky, but I have had failures upon first use (set of hole-saws that sheared drive pins in less than 2 revolutions...

Perfect C-Dory tool kit would consist of?

Since 1982, US pennies are only 2.5% copper plating, over a base metal that is mostly zinc. I think the copper will be long-gone before an aluminum can is dissolved via dissimilar metal contact. And if you are revenge-oriented, a handful of pre-1982 pennies thrown into the bilge of an aluminum...

Perfect C-Dory tool kit would consist of?

I use Pelican cases, out of habit, for tools and handguns while on the water. I have a briefcase-styled mil-spec one that was designed for the issue Panasonic Toughbook, and it makes a perfect toolbox...pricey, but I got mine used on Craigslist for about 10-cents on the dollar...I had a strong...

    Any 22-Cruisers on Lake Champlain?

If you boat there, do you regret your decision? My 1st choice is Maritime 23 Voyager, but they are not dealer-stocked, and factory does not build on speculation, only upon receipt of order, plus will be more $$$. Somehow, I'm not comfortable spending $80+k based only on a photograph. They are...

    Pedestal seats modification.

Try using Google site search...to search for seats, the search term would read: site:www.c-brats.com seats If you use Google Chrome as a browser, there is a free extension called "Search the current site" which will automatically provide the correct syntax.

    Ballard Locks

The Champlain Canal in NYS is in similar disrepair, mostly due to heavy silt build-up over the years, causing insufficient depth to support high-draft commercial ship traffic, a former source of revenue, with cargo now going mostly by rail, and the canal system becoming suitable only for...

    Ranger vs. C-Dory

I believe that's a myth...the same engine block in an outboard (think only Honda and Suzuki do that) will be far more heavily stressed than in a car, where you are typically running 1/2-2/3 of redline, compared to much higher in most outboards. In an outboard, that block is putting out close to...

Bootlace Wire Ferrules for Screw Terminal applications

Doesn't tightening screws which have had blue Loctite applied break the Loctite bond, and require removal of screw and reapplication of the Loctite? Loctite is also an excellent crevice-corrosion inhibitor, often working better than anti-seize compounds. I think once applied to terminal...

    Sufficiency/efficiency of twin 40s on 22'

Frankly, I would prefer a 90hp single + 9.9 kicker... To me twins = 2x the maintenance costs, but will provide marginally better maneuverability with adequate separation distance, but will always cost more to maintain. And if one fails, the other could get you home at non-planing speeds...
