    Are Used C-Dory's Overpriced?

Thanks again for the comments! I have another concern that I would like more discussion on, and I am sure you guys got the answers. I am going to say the dirty word...Balsa cored hull. I have read the reports on what has happened to Sea Rays. I have read the surveyors that basically...

    Are Used C-Dory's Overpriced?

I thought you guys said the NADA is garbage? You can't have it both ways. But I agree that your C-Dory boats are cool. I understand why some of you have sprung so much for your used boats. It was that or forget getting in the C-dory club. I get it. I see the prices. I just can't...

    Are Used C-Dory's Overpriced?

Bad assumption James. Also, "worthless" and "without monetary value" are two different concepts. Try selling your Used Fire extinquisher,. your used portable bait well, or your used GPS and you will see what I am talking about. They may be desirable to a buyer (and they certainly are) but...

    Are Used C-Dory's Overpriced?

In retrospect, the best boat I have ever owned up to this point (not the largest or the most expensive) was a "pounder". It was a 20 foot shamrock with a similar hull to the C-Dory, that is, sharp entry and a flat stern.

    Are Used C-Dory's Overpriced?

Thanks for all the responses. As for what a potential new buyer finds more interesting, I like the 22. I have already had a bigger boat, and the negatives of a bigger boat outweigh the positives. Extra trouble trailering, extra fuel, extra cleaning, extra everything. Boat ownership should be...

    Are Used C-Dory's Overpriced?

Im with you on that Da Nag. Thanks for the advice. I looked today at several 'alternative' resources and found some other used c-dory listings. Alas, they are all way above NADA. I guess the only thing you can use the NADA guide when price shopping is to try to beat down the seller...

    Are Used C-Dory's Overpriced?

Well, you both have excellent points. I still cannot justify the cost of a used one, and will probably only buy one if I can get something opportunistically. In absense of that, I will keep my eyes open and contemplate buying new.

    Are Used C-Dory's Overpriced?

But the thing is, and not to throw water on your fire, the 'extras' on a dory are the same as the extras on any boat, which in actual dollars is akin to used furniture...next to nothing. Go try and sell your 10 year old trailer. Go try and sell your old radar, your old GPS unit. These things...

    Are Used C-Dory's Overpriced?

The one I am speaking of was on a trailer, on the road that runs out to the gulf beside sterling marina. I haven't seen it for quite some time. I think it was a 22 with a green stripe. Anyway, I will catch up to you soon.

    Are Used C-Dory's Overpriced?

Stopped by yesterday but you weren't home. Actually, the first boat I saw was a different boat over by Sterling marina. I drove by and I don't think it is there anymore. Anyway, thanks...I will get by to see you sometime this week.

    Are Used C-Dory's Overpriced?

Drove by today and saw your boat tucked up under your garage. I will try to stop by sometime this weekend if that is okay with you. What are you trailering your boat all the way to Wyoming with? Sounds like a great time!

    Are Used C-Dory's Overpriced?

This is my first post, so I want to say hello to everyone here. The title of this thread was particularly of interest to me. Several years ago I saw a 22 sea-dory in my neighborhood (hernando beach, Florida). At the time I was the owner of a 24 Shamrock, twin 351 gas inboards, tower, etc...
