    05/17 - 05/19 - Friday Hbr CBGT, 2019

Sorry to say that we are not able to attend this year. Maureen and I look forward to attending a gathering soon. But we just had a life changing experience; a new job out of state. Notice i said "a" new job. We both have jobs, now in different states. Good thing the CD is on a trailer! Looking...

This might be of interest to some during the weekend; a visit to the San Juan Islands Museum of Art. One exhibit that caught my eye is this: https://www.visitsanjuans.com/events/my ... m-veterans Looks like the museum would be a nice walk from the marina.

    Newbie has a question

Boats are not good financial investments. For the last ten years or so I have been in the process of rebuilding a 1939 36 foot Salmon Troller. It will take you longer and cost you more than what you plan. With all that said, I love what i have done. For me it was a way more than just rebuilding...

    Cleaning cushings

We had diesel on our interior cushions when we bought the CD22. We removed all the fabric, including the cloth stapled to the plywood bases. Washing the fabric in Dawn and a tiny bit of vinegar got all the fabric back to new. Really amazing. Then I bit the bullet and bought all new cushion...

    2 Choices

This past summer we spent two weeks in the San Juans and Gulf Islands. With the two of us, our CD22, we tied two kayaks to the roof; https://www.ems.com/pelican-fazer-100-k ... s&start=10 For $200 you can't beat them.

    Another question regarding dual batteries

Havey, Colby, just ordered the adapter for DC lighter outlet on Amazon. They also have a DC battery pack available in the $300 range. Wow, that is going to help big time. Happy New Year!

    Another question regarding dual batteries

Harvey, Colby, I owe you guys. Thanks for the details. You made me look closer at my CPAP. I see that it is rated at 12VDC/5.0 Amps. I'm guessing that is 5 amps continuous which is quite a bit. But at least knowing the amperage I should be able to make up a connection. I think I'll make contact...

Sliding Window Pane Replacement - Help!

I've ordered all the pieces; slider tracks and felt/hairy seal from DG. Very helpful on the phone and they will send you the detail assembly drawing. The only problem i had with DG was how long it took to ship the parts. In my case, the parts arrived after the rain and cold set in. (Seattle) The...

    Another question regarding dual batteries

Harvey, you posted; " I have 2 Group 27 batteries, and run a CPAP device on those every night, 6 - 8 hours. " Do you use an inverter for AC or do you have a DC connection for the CPAP? I would love to find a DC connection for my CPAP.

Oregon Coast Labor Day weekend water quality ADVISORY

Jason, having grown up, or at least tried to grow up, in Medford, MA, I certainly understand what you are saying. But rest assured, the Northwest is truly a beautiful place. I love Boston, but I found my home in the NW.

Comparing VHF/GPS Radios (w/ current rebates)

One note on crossing the Canadian border, as I have hundreds of times; get a NEXUS pass. Pay the $50 bucks or whatever it is now, fill out the application on line, go to the interview, and enjoy crossing with no hassle. You don’t even have to land to clear by boat. And if you cross by car, you...

    Orca, “environmentalists” and lawsuits

Good points Mark So I live on the Skagit. Too many times I see “fishermen” take a net and cover three quarters of the river’s width. Must be some kind of law they cannot cover the entire river width. But wait, listen and watch as the “fishermen” throw cherry bombs in the one third that is not...
