    Appoximate towing weight of a C-Dory 25

I should have commented that our tongue weight is calculated, not measured: Weighed the front, rear, and trailer axles separately; came back with the Truck only and weighed the front & rear axles sans trailer; and calculated the tongue weight. The scale is pretty busy, and I surely don't like...

    Appoximate towing weight of a C-Dory 25

The trailer is 1500 pounds, so our total load is a bit over 8000 pounds (sans all the stuff humans need, like food and a good book). Tongue weight of 1200 pounds is as calculated (front axle; rear axle; trailer axles; etc.). The jack (if that is the proper term) is rated at 1500 pounds, but it...

    PROJECT-A-PALOOZA!! - V-Berth Access and Mods

We have a 2007 25', which has been stored for the last 2 years or so on its trailer. I just crawled into the v-berth and pulled out the cushions. We have a 5" (?) round inspection access towards the bow - I pulled it and there are several inches of water inside. (no foam). We also have...

    Appoximate towing weight of a C-Dory 25

We have a 2007 25' C-Dory, twin 90 hp outboards, on a Road Runner 6500 model trailer and a 1995 Ford F350 RWD one ton long box crew cab dually 7.3 litre turbo diesel. When I worked out the towing capability of The Truck from the owner's manual, it appeared that we were exceeding its capacity...

cleaning horribly dirty window tracks.. help

We have a 2007 25', and the window sliders were almost impossible to move. I'd tried spraying with silicon lube, but hadn't done any cleaning first. Just spent some time with a bucket of water, a screwdriver, toothbrush and the water pick I use for cleaning my teeth. Worked quite well! I...

    C-dory 25 or 26 tow weight question.

We have a 2008(?) 25 C-Dory with twin Yamaha 90s, 3 batteries, and the usual electronics etc. etc. etc., on a Road Runner trailer that catalogues at 1500 pounds. The tow vehicle is a 1995 Ford F350 crewcab dually with a 7.3 litre turbo-diesel (and modern half tons probably have more power and...

No battery power to forward fuse block, 25' Cruiser. HELP!

the charger is where advised. Looks like my problems were a function of when I was checking things combined with what I had hooked up for batteries. Looks like the house batteries had to be installed for the charger to provide juice to the starter battery, etc. etc. etc. So, things are...

No battery power to forward fuse block, 25' Cruiser. HELP!

Well, I just failed the IQ test - again! I popped a battery in place of the pulled house batteries, turned on the rotary battery switch, and flipped on the cabin lights. and the bilge pump. and the cockpit lights. and they all worked! Dang! My best guess is that when I originally checked...

No battery power to forward fuse block, 25' Cruiser. HELP!

Can someone advise as to where the battery charger is located? I'll drop a battery in on the house battery side tomorrow and see if it makes a difference.

No battery power to forward fuse block, 25' Cruiser. HELP!

Yup. Disconnected one lead from the circuit breaker and checked continuity across it. There appears to be some leakage when it's popped, but zero resistance normally. Do you know what the circuit breaker controls? I should have mentioned that ours is a 2007 model (I think!)

No battery power to forward fuse block, 25' Cruiser. HELP!

We last used Squirt II in September, and brought her back from being in Charter Service out of Vancouver Island two weeks ago (she was not used this year). The batteries are fully charged; all the fuses are good (fuses at the fuse panel on the forward bulkhead and fuses adjacent to the starter...

Crossing the border and money exchange

We use a credit card when travelling outside of Canada for major purchases, but hit the bank earlier to pick up a supply of the appropriate currency. Credit cards work really well, but it's also dang nice and convenient to have the local currency in hand, and a bit simpler for the folks where...

Oil analysis applies to our diesel tow vehicles!!!

I've been putting small, cheap, rare earth magnets on the oil filters on our cars/trucks. Dunno if it makes any difference, but the magnets are cheap and should collect any ferrous type material in the filter. Doug
