    Insurance recommendations

I agree. Agreed value is a no-brainer for the insurance company, you can state nearly any value, you will pay for the policy accordingly. It is the way I did it. I am with Progressive because the islands off my coast here in Southern California are covered in the distance from the coast. Read...

    Scupper replacement recomendation

Right after I brought my 2003 CD25 home in December 2002, I looked at those rubber flaps for scuppers and said to myself those won’t work for long if at all. I found nearly the identical size frame and actually hole pattern in a ping pong ball type scupper, put them on, they seem to have worked...

It's those damn disc brake calipers again

Wow Colby, it’s sad to hear all of your effort that you go through annually/whenever to keep your calipers and boot pins happy. I’m still stuck on why there’s so much heat and/or vibration on those right side brakes. I don’t know what a normal running temperature would be. L So with new SS(?)...

2025 Bay and Delta extravaganza: Sign Up

It was another great Extravaganza. I would like to add, and I think it reflects the thoughts of all the veterans of this event, John and Laurie have done a tremendous job of taking over the event that Jim Gibson likewise did a fine job for 20 years. The hosts of these events do much more than...

2025 Bay and Delta extravaganza: Sign Up

Thanks for the heads-up John and Steve. You don’t realize how important a bridge is until you have to work around it. I don’t recall taking the 101 all the way, except maybe by car a long time ago, is there a problem with that, seems shorter than working the way back to the I-5.

    Outboard Tell Tale Stream

I routinely have the same problem with my Yamaha 80’s. Sometimes it’s a tiny spider nest (web), but mostly it’s bits of debris that get clogged at the little plastic exit port of the housing (the tell-tail pee port). That port connects to a small rubber tubing that connects to the engine. Don’t...

2024 SE Alaska cruise with 13 year old granddaughter

Sitka is my favorite as well (so far). I went there on a Princess Cruise ship among other stops. My first encounter to love that place is when an American Bald Eagle landed on the bow of the ship as we were beginning to debark. Jay, maybe someday I’ll be able to take my own boat and stay longer...

It's those damn disc brake calipers again

I don’t know the temperature rating of the grease you used, I would think silicon grease is very low temp. Maybe a super-thin coating of disc brake grease (400°+) might be good? I think I used a marine waterproof grease on mine (probably not high temp). I’ll have to rethink how I grease those...

It's those damn disc brake calipers again

I too have never had this kind of problem with my disc calipers, I’ve had other problems, but not this. I’ve been running Kodiak Stainless Steel calipers for the past 5 yrs or so with my EOH system and over 10,000 miles, no issues. In your picture of the rubber bushing (that is present), is it...

Karl & Nancy, nice pics. Us old-timers tend to leave it to the newbies to post the best pictures…thanks.
