    29 Venture

I own hull #3 of the 29 Venture (C-Belle). I've had her for 4+ years now and am very happy cruising with this boat. I don't own a trailer as we keep her in the water so I can't tell you what it's like towing her. She has the 220 Yanmar, bow thruster, no stern thruster. No generator or air...

    Charts Charts and more Charts

Hi Dave I'm interested in the Canadian charts you have listed. Let me know if they could be mailed and the amount you're looking for. We do lots of cruising from Victoria to the Broughtons.

    Weather Forecast Decisions SE Alaska

We crossed the Georgia Straits last year in 35k winds from Nanaimo to Madeira Park. It kept us busy but never concerned with the boat. I would certainly avoid a beam sea in those conditions and change course accordingly. That's an unpleasant ride.

    C-Dory Sightings

Was heading into Russell Island off Saltspring on Sunday afternoon when a C-Dory was heading out. Didn't get her name but I think it started with "K". We waved to each other but just crossed paths.

    Anchor rode cleat

Thanks Bob I start my first turn on the starboard side of the cleat and it clears the aft end of the roller. It was a fine line to make sure the chain did not ride along the bottom of the cleat. No room aft of the windless to install it.

    Anchor rode cleat

Thanks for the tips. I installed the cleat as planned (see photo album). This is for a short anchorage while we spend the afternoon or a calm night. In a blow I can always secure the rode through the two forward cleats with a snubber.

    Anchor rode cleat

Looking at adding an 8" cleat between the windless and bow roller. Would offset it by 2" +- to ensure the rode rides free. See my photo album for approximate position. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Galvanic isolator

Had to swap my my old Guest Galvanic Isolator for a new ProSafe. Photo of old and new in my album. The Guest (out of production) had a remote read into the electrical panel which was handy. This new one, I plan to check yearly. Hope to keep the zincs a bit longer as they seemed to be eaten...
