    Prepping to Buy... Advice?

I’m running a 2008 22’ Cruiser that I bought new from Sportcraft. Great dealership, and couldn’t be happier with the boat. Since you live in Portland, I would skip the camper canvas, because you can always have Bentley’s install that when you have the funds. An anchor windlass is nice, but...

    Anchor roller installation

I'm thinking of installing a Lewmar pivoting anchor roller. I run a 14 pound Delta anchor with a Lewmar 700 windlass, and I'd like to be able to launch and retrieve the anchor without leaving the helm. Sounds like 3M 4000 is the ticket.

    Anchor roller installation

I'm planning to install a new anchor roller on my 22 Cruiser this winter. Seems like an easy enough project, but I'm wondering what material to use between the new roller and the top of the hull. The material the factory installed beneath the current roller is starting to wear down. An thoughts?

    Hello Again

There's no doubt a 5 or 6 hp kicker will push the boat. However, those single-cylinder kickers aren't nearly as smooth as a 9.9. I had a Yamaha 6 on my drift boat a few years ago, and it just didn't run nearly as smoothly as a twin cylinder motor. I put a 9.9 Suzuki on my 22 Cruiser last...

    Truck for towing 22 Cruiser

I also towed my 22 Cruiser with a Nissan Frontier. It towed reasonably well, but as Peter mentioned, I always knew it was back there. It did surprisingly well through mountain passes, which surprised me. However, I had airbags installed to level things out while I was towing the boat. After...

    Hauling a tomcat255

You shouldn't even think of towing a Tomcat with an F150. You know it, I know it, and everyone reading this thread knows it.

    Magma cookware

Thanks for the input. Looks like a good set for the C Dory.

    Magma cookware

Well, the time has come to get some new pots and pans for use in the boat. I have a Wallas stove (Nordic DT), and would like to get a set that makes good use of space. I've been looking at the Magma nesting cookware (non-stick), and it seems like the ticket. Before taking the plunge, I...

    Shipping to Alaska

We used the State Ferry last year when we bought our 22' Cruiser. I believe it was a littler more than $3K to get it from Bellingham to Whittier. It was a really nice way to ship the boat, and the ferry staff seemed to keep a nice eye on it while it was in transit.

    Boat or RV?

If it has to be one or the other, I'd get the boat. The RV just takes you to the next stop on the highway, where there are probably a bunch of other people anyway, while the boat can get you out to otherwise inaccessible adventures. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

DECKadence marine flooring anyone using it??

Is it tacky enough to keep coolers, etc. from sliding around?

    "Tundra's" Last Stand

I have no idea how Tundras sell in comparison to the full-sized American trucks, but I do see a lot of them in the Kenai and Homer areas. I own one myself, and it is by far the best truck I've ever had. Bought it new in 2008, and it still drives like the day I bought it. Also, I don't think...

    The tipping point

It does still have the new boat smell, but it's fading fast. We were fortunate that our first trip on the boat was a 3 day trip, so we were able to run through the entire break-in procedure. A couple of halibut trips after that went well, as far as the engines are concerned.

    The tipping point

Ken, what props are you running on your Suzukis? I have twin Suzuki 50's as well, but haven't seen 32 MPH with them as yet. We just got the boat late this year and have a whopping 20 hours on the outboards, but so far so good. One thing I've noticed so far is that the fuel economy is great.

    Northwest Marine!!

Out of curiosity, how long has Northwest Marine been building the C Dory boats? We bought a new 2013 22' Cruiser this year, and it's an exceptionally well made boat. It's our third C Dory, and by far the best-built.
