This is it. The one you've all been waiting for. THE MOTHER OF ALL SITE UPGRADES.

I'll fill this thread up with replies with many more details, but beyond the announcement there's one critical step everyone must take - so I'm keeping it short.

MAKE SURE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IS UP TO DATE!!!


I can't stress this enough. If you've an old email address being used in your profile, you will not be able to access the new site when it goes live without assistance. Everyone will need to reset their passwords upon first visit to the new site, and without the ability to receive an email confirmation that contains an account activation link - you will not be able to login until TyBoo or I assist you!

Click on the Profile link in the upper right corner and check it now!

If your current and correct email is currently configured at the C-Brats (click the Profile link in the upper right corner), you can ignore the rest of this post.

If you need to change your email address, it's quick and easy. Below is a link to a quick video showing the process.

Note that the activation email can get caught up in your SPAM folders. Check there if you don't see it in your email inbox. If you go through this process and find yourself locked out of your account, drop an email to admin@c-brats.com and we'll get you fixed up.

Also, the photos can be right on your computer or mobile device to insert into a message rather than having to be already on the web.

Videos need to be previously uploaded to any of many different sites to embed, but the process is just as easy.

Looking forward to it! Will the upgraded site support secure (https) connections now?

For me that's the biggest pain point- my browser often forces https attempts when clicking on c-brats links, resulting in a broken page- I have edit the url each time.

Plus, added security is a good thing in general.

Everything is still on schedule. We're 48 hours away from the new site! Expect the site to be unavailable starting at 8AM PST on Wednesday, September 3. We're uncertain how long the migration will take, but it will be several hours at a minimum. Check back in later in the day.

This thread and this post will be front and center when the new site goes live, but for those of you seeing this now - you might check out the video below ahead of time. As mentioned previously, everyone will need to reset their password when the new site goes live. Nothing prevents you from using the same password you are now, but the procedure in the video below is mandatory. You won't be able to login until you've completed it.

As mentioned in the video and many other places - admin@c-brats.com is the email to use should you encounter any issues. Both Mike (TyBoo) and I will receive emails to that address and one of us will take care of you.
