Has anyone replaced the stock 20 gallon tank in a 22 with removable jugs? I kinda remember seeing on here or on the FB page someone had done it but can't find the post. I would like to have two 5ish gallon jugs that are connected to the sink but that I can individually remove.

We like to go out for 10ish days at a time but I don't need the weight of the 20 gallon tank so I only fill it to 10 gallons. Then we fill from fresh water sources as needed. It would be nice to have the extra storage and have removable tanks.

Thanks for any input or pics if you've done this.

I did remove the water tank on my 22, and it was nice to claim all that space for storage. I added a manual water pump (Whale GP0650) and a 5 gallon water jug under the sink strap to the shelf. I usually carried a spare so I had a good bit of time to refill the empty one. I removed the wash down pump and connect the original fresh water foot pump to the scupper so I could use sea water to rinse stuff off at the sink, that really reduce my fresh water usage. I was please with that set up.

I removed the water tank pretty early in my ownership. We used portable drinking water containers for fresh water. The sink was mostly used to hold things so they wouldn’t roll off the counter top is rough water. This worked fine for us, but we didn’t go out into the wilds like some people. The extra storage space where the water tank used to be was very handy.
