WIN 10

I added a solid state drive (SSD) to my desktop PC (vintage 2009 Dell server with 3G RAM and Intel Q6600 Quad-Core CPU) as the primary drive then installed WIN 10 clean install from bootable thumb drive. Very easy upgrade, too! So far I like it and using the built-in anti virus and malware protection instead of AVG and MalwareBytes. It boots very quickly and fast. Soon I will subscribe to Office 365 but using Google Docs and Drive which fulfills my needs. I switched to Chrome and installed a few apps and widgets. Now organizing files from 2 hard drives to 1TB external drive.

I bought an inexpensive Lenovo Win10x64 laptop ($270 on a BestBuy sale), then upgraded the RAM to 16GB, swapped in a 1TB SSHD, and upgraded Win10 to Pro for better use for development. It turned out quite adequate for not a whole lot of money. For antivirus, my pick is ESET for both Win and Mac.

i installed Win 10 of an old HP netbook (Atom N270 CPU, 2 G RAM, 160G HD) and it runs fine. Then installed Yamaha Diagnostic Software ver 1.33, 2010 and it runs! ( I thought it would be incompatible)
