Well looky there on the front page. The first item in the Cruises and Events list is the 2009 SBS, and all three scheduled events have had their titles edited to remove the now superfluous "2009" that distinguished them from the now historic events.

There will be lots of Year in Review talk early next month, but now is a good time to start recalling fondly the CBGTs of this year. The TyBoo crew made only the '08 SBS and one - ONE - cruise. We'll have to work on that little problem next year.

To start with, how about a simple yes/no Poll to see how many folks took part in the experience that is only to be found at a C-Brat Get Together in 2008.

After the Poll has run its course we will move this thread to the more appropriate Cruises and Events forum.

I made it to 3:
1) The Seattle Boat Show/factory gathering/hotel party
2) My own (poorly attended) Neah Bay Gathering. Even with the poor attendance, this was a blast. Hopefully more will be willing to haul their boats out this year (fuel prices are down!).
3) The Dec. locks cruise.

Unfortunately, I missed the Friday Harbor gathering due to yard work and didn't get any shrimping in this year either. Next year, I hope to make it to more events.

1- Seattle Boat Show/CBGT :thup
2- Lake Almanor with SEA3PO :thup
3- Catalina Cruise :thup
4- Santa Barbara Cruise :thup

Should have made the Delta Cruise, but we were between boats.

Wanted to make the Lake Powell Cruise, but we have the curse of the working man- not enough vacation time.

Don't know about 2009 as yet. We have a couple of other irons in the fire with our motorhome group.

Well we did get to the first CBGT of 08, the Seattle Boat Show and premier CBGT land event, and we also made it to, luck for us, (and thanks for enduring to those others who made it) the Sequim Bay CBGT. Sure glad we made it to them. If Roger (Dreamer) is in trouble for only getting 5, we are way into deep trouble. Sorry, we will try doing better in the new year.

Uh, oh! I think I counted nine CBGT's and Cruises. Didn't realize until this poll that we'd been to that many this year. Here I'd been thinking that R-MATEY didn't get used that much in 2008.

SBS/CBC..................January
Jarrells Cove............March
Friday Harbor...........May
Anacortes.................May
Bellingham...............August
Gulf Islands..............August
Sequim.....................September
Langley....................November
Rogerbum's CBGT....December

No, we're not addicted to our C-Dory. No! No! No! Denial, denial, denial. See you all next month at the CBC/SBS

Unfamiliar with the acronym CBGT, whats the T stand for? :?
We definitely take pleasure in the seclusion of Prince William Sound (PWS), rarely every swing on the hook with another boat in sight.
Don’t think anyone initiated a gathering last summer out in PWS so we never had the opportunity to attend any gathering; it would have been great to share ideas and adventures with fellow brats.
Last summer would have been a tough one in that the snow didn’t leave the beaches until mid July, we would have all had to tie up together and do the boat hoop I think. :wink
Never look in the Cruises and Gatherings forum so maybe we miss the boat last summer.

CBGT = C-Brat Get Together !

Oops, I forgot the Gulf Islands cruise so I did make 7. Joe and Ruth are the champs however. But they're not addicted, not addicted, not addicted..........

We should organize one. How's PWS? You guys probably don't want to go on the North Gulf Coast with me. Plus the weather and seas are so darned unpredictable. It is not for the faint of heart.....

These are the ones we made it to..."only" 5... hope to reprise these and add Gulf Islands and/or Broughtons.

I'm proud to say that there was not one CBGT that I missed in 2008!

(However, physically I only made it to the 4 listed above.....all the other ones I attended vicariously through the words and pictures of those wonderful gatherings as they were posted on this C-Brat Site....thanks to all of you for sharing those great experiences with me!)

Thanks Ruth and Joe for posting the gatherings so I could quote the ones that I physically attended....

OK, its been damnable cold here, but finally braved the elements and went out to the driveway to get our Daydream log book! My definition of a CBGT is whenever two or more C-Dorys go out overnight, in addition to the "official" CBGTs, so here is what we did in 2008. The "unofficial" CBGTs are marked with an asterisk.

January SBS/CBC
March Jarrell's Cove (on Crabby Lou)
May Friday Harbor
May Anacortes
July* Matia, Center Island & James Island with Halcyon
July* Eagle Harbor at Cypress with Halcyon
July* Matia with Halcyon, Bess C and Anna Leigh
August Bellingham
August Gulf Islands
September Lake Powell
November* Andrews Bay, Lake Washington with Laurna Jo
December Lake Washington/Ivar's

Humm....got to go get a calendar....but off my head for 2008 I know of the following states....

WA, MD, NY, VT, NC, SC, TN, FL...

All fun and great to travel and be with the C-Brat family.

Hope to boat more, see more of you on the waters in 09....and see some different states.

Have a Blessed 2009 and may your health be with you and your crew!!
