Anyone have any dealings with the factory as a second owner? My TC is a 2006 but I am not the original owner. Am thinking about raising the issue of the incorrect installation of the macerator pumps for the fishboxes (not fastened to the transom but hanging on the hoses) and the installation of the fuel filters in the sponsons rather than on the outside where they can be safely drained. These had to be installed at the factory, the boat was originally sold at Y-Landing in New Hampshire.

Maybe the new owners of C-Dory would be a little lenient? What do you think?

Charlie,

I think the fuel filters are installed by the ppl installing the engines, but I am not for certain. Mine was one of the last TC255's put together by the factory and they put the filters out on the aft deck area, so I am thinking that is where they'd put it, but I am not for sure. It would not hurt to call Y-landing, or even C-Dory for that matter. It should not involve much to move the fuel filters.

I don't know much about those macerators on my boat, but would sure like to know how to get to them. I hope someone on the site knows about this.

Maybe they are not mounted so that you can loosen the hose on an accesible end and then pull the whole apparatus out for access! Which direction does the wiring come from?

John, I'll try to get some pix tomorrow am when it's cooler. The wiring comes from the batt compartment in the middle. I don't think you could get to EITHER the overboard fitting OR the fitting coming out of the fishbox to loosten those. As for the fuel filters, I don't think the dealer did that, you can't get to them either from the access hatch except to loosten the thumbwheel on the plastic thingy to drain out a little water/fuel if it has any. I think they were installed at the factory, plumbed to the fuel tank and left for the dealer to put the hose/bulb on and run out to the engines on the Armstrong bracket. I'll take a better look in the am.

Have sent Y-Landing an e-mail, we'll see what they say.
