Is anyone cruising the SW coast of Florida during the next 2 to 4 weeks?

If so, let us know. Wanderer plans to leave Marathon tomorrow morning (7 Feb.) and spend a few days in the Everglades and then a few more in the 10000 Islands before heading to Marco, Naples and on up into Pine Island Sound. We hope to make a few stops in Sanibel and Cayo Costa before continuing on the Florida ICW maybe as far as Tampa Bay.

We'd love to meet you on the water or land.

Bon Voyage -- you're cruising through some great water. Watch for the manatees in the mangrove forest of the 10,000 islands -- water is mighty shallow in there, but some great places to anchor. Might also consider going into the Little Shark River and taking a right turn a short way into the mangroves -- great anchorage and the sounds of early springtime come straight from the Mesozoic! Have a great trip -- we'll be thinking of you two, and wishing you a fine cruise.
 
hi we live in naples and have the duck 22cruiser model still rigging her up for cruising .im off to work from the2/7/-2/17 if your still around give a call 239-269-9537 jim and loree widmann. we are hoping to get in some cruising this summer when we both retire take care and give a call
 
Hey George and Penny! I am not sure what or where I will be...Bonnie Plant Farm has not made their final call yet. Once I get some type of commitment from them, I may pull FreeByrd from Lake Martin, take her down to Marc on the NW side of FL at the new C-Dory Dealership, do an oil change and engine maintenance, then go play somewhere for about a week. Then, drop the boat back off by Marc's for re-painting of the bottom and a few other regular maintenance type things. Or, if someone comes in with a nice offer, I may go ahead and sell her due to me being gone thru Jun06 once the plant season gets going. Who knows. I will keep you posted.

It would be great to travel with yall again.

Hope to meet up with you when you get to Naples. We have dock space and ground transportation available if you need some time on dry land to reprovision. I can be contacted 24/7 at 239-825-1030 .

I have visited your web site and enjoyed sharing in your cruising adventures and would love to meet you both.

Keep an eye on the weather and watch out for the cold fronts.

We're here in St Petersburg and if you stop in the Tampa Bay area, give me a call 727-510-3031 and we can try to get together by either land or sea...... otherwise, maybe we'll see you again at the Chesapeake Gathering which we plan on attending God willing.

George & Penny, The time we spent together was so much fun for Judy and I and we look forward to meeting up with you many
times in the years to come. Your "port in a storm" is always open, tide permitting.
 
We've been out just about two week. Yesterday we reached Tampa Bay. Now, we are on our way back to Marathon. The weather has been splendid. Warm days and clear cool nights. The temperature has ranged, from 28 to 82 degrees, most of the time between 60 and 80. Winds have been light.

When\if we can find a stronger data card connection to the internet, I'll post some pictures and comments to "The Wanderers" web site.

Penny and I have not found a better place to cruise during the winter months. You ought to try it!

George, Glad to see that you and Penny are loving life and enjoying your cruise.... Our C-Dory Brother Casey hit a bit of wind...and a bit of traffic in the FL waters he was traveling...when he was traveling... Looks that a week or two can make a large differance in the winter winds in FL. Truly look forward to your pics as always.

George and Penny,

Sheila and I just missed you in Naples. We went on a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale and drove across the Tamiami Trail to Naples on Sunday, February 12th, ate Lunch at THE DOCK on the 13th, and went north on the Tamiami Trail on the 14th so as to fly out of Tampa on Wednesday, the 15th.

On the Tamiami Trail, we found the BULLDOG BOATWERKS, a new C-dory dealer. (239-731-8736). The owner is Dave Douglas, a great guy. Sheila and I checked out the 25' C-Dory. She is sold on it.

Travelling Florida in a C-Dory makes much more sense then by car. The traffic is just awful. The trip from Naples to Tampa took us over eight hours.

Naples is our choice place in Florida, but according to AARP MAGAZINE, the realestste market is 84% OVER valued. The beauty of OLD NAPLES is nice. The traffic does not warrant it.

Travelling and living on a boat like a C-Dory could make for a nice warm winter. At this time, it is snowing in Hingham MA.

We (you and I) experienced the only cold weather Florida has had all winter.

Keep cruising. You have got it right.

It would have been nice if we had connected. I'm puzzled about your last message: "Wrong year, wrong boat". Did you mean to post it elsewhere?
