Trolling Helm on Blueback

On nice warm sunny days we sit on portable seats in the cockpit next to our rods. This second helm station works for me. I made it from stainless tubing and 2- universal joints. Pull the hair pin clip and it can be disassembled in 1/2 minute.

Nice idea!

I've seen that before on a C-Dory, maybe 4-10 years ago.

Don't remember if it was a 16, 19, 22, or whatever, though.

Thanks --so do we and it was cheap - got the helm/wheel from the auto-wreckers, and the rest was odds and sods for pennies. The stainless tubing can be found - here and there. And my home welder with 2016 rods and a few tacks and that's it.
I was a marine engineer on large and small ships/boats for part of my career. On the Tugs they had 3 stations for steering which was so very necessary. I guess this stuck in my mind --LOL

Quickest is steep ramp in Grappler Inlet aka Port Desire, Bamfield. Fee. Funky but quick. No ramp into main Bamfield inlet, but all the overnight lodging is best accessed that side, as I expect you know. Kirby is a short shot from there, with trolling low speed seemingly the most effective. Sockeye run, not sure if this is the year. Some springs action along outside of Fleming, in the right time.

Some figure running down from Port Alberni is less painful than driving the road.

Yes Dave, there are many stories of vehicles or tires not up to the road. I personally am not worried about my Jeep Liberty diesel, but the trailer and boat are always a concern of course. What about Poett's Nook - would this not cut off about 10 miles of dust choking washboard?
