Tomcat 255

Hi, Interested Parties

Just returned from the factory(s) and EQ checking on progress of the Tomcat 255.

The deck section is done and looks good, at least as much as I could tell because it was laying upside down on a frame over my head! My biggest concern is the fishbox/seat area across the stern of the cockpit (about 46"). That's where my compressor goes, and it looks like it will just fit.

They were polishing the mold for the hull. It, too, was upside down and matt black so I couldn't see much detail, but it is nearing completion. They were working on the cabin deck section while we were there.

All this is taking place at the old Monroe facility. When all the molds are ready, they'll bring them to Auburn for actual molding.

They were expecting a week to 10 days before #1 is molded. If it all looks good, they'll do #2. So, 6 weeks after it comes out of the mold brings us to late July.

Les will be doing the rigging, including installation of 2x200 Evinrudes, not for speed but for 30 kts with a full load and no strain.

I'll be back up when they mold up #2 and install the compressor.

Getting close!

Thanks Scaley-
Can't wait to see it. Hopefully you can attend the 3rd Annual Santa Barbara Cruise in October. I know all the others are chomping at the bit to see the new cat.

Scaley.... Thanks for the update.. I hear that Les and Kathy are pegged to the max at EQ. Keep me posted as you have been. Great to see the progress. Byrdman

Hi all,

Here is a copy of a post from the power catamarans list.

Here's the latest word from Scott Mathews at C-Dory Marine:

"The first hull will be at our factory for about two weeks at the
local marina where it will be available for sea trials. The first
show would probably be the Lake Union Boats Afloat Show around
September 15th in Seattle."

Earlier, he said: "Hull number one is getting ready to come out of
the mold and will be done in mid July. I will be sending out
pictures of the hull once the deck and top are on."

Scaley should be closing in on the factory end of week. I plan to visit the factory on Thusday, 14Jul. I think both of us will report findings from our trip. Glad to know there is so much interest on this vessel. It truly does look to be another great boat put out by C-dory. Thanks for helping us track traffic on this.
