Help, I bought a 8' Bombard dinghy . I have not use it yet, does putting the boat on top of that shinny gel coat , will it damage the roof over time ,or does any of you use some kind of protection, between the roof and the dinghy ? Or maybe I might be a little over protective of my beautiful new boat? Should I just slam the darn rubber boat on top of the Dory tie it and forget it ?
IT is been in storage for 2 months enough is enough.

Good old beach towels are a solution to the wear factor  Really though, there ain't much "wear factor" existin' :|
Most time i just stand mine on-end (been doing that for the longest time) I gave up on putin' it on the top, since i have the "Angler" model (in the case of my old C-Dory it's called the "Classic") Even old Sundog learned to do it that way  over time :moon

Now; I'm gettin' outa here... poof** :bat

Thank you C-Brat brothers. That dinghy was a little like my first hole I attempted to drill on the boat; you know, a few beer, drill in hand staring at pencil mark. 2 days later little hung over, Voila, first hole done. Now I got holes all over except through the floor (YET ? ). Late last night was thinking about my fishing trip up island in august, 100 pound illucive hali, all those Kings salmon, cod, snappers, crabs, huge tiger prawns, messing my cockpit floor, Don't think I worry about few scratches on my roof any more.
